Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PRINCE2 Practitioner is the advanced AXELOS credential that validates your ability to apply and tailor the PRINCE2 method to real project scenarios. Delivered through PeopleCert, it sits above PRINCE2 Foundation and is designed for practising and aspiring project managers.

    General

What is the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification?

PRINCE2 Practitioner is the advanced AXELOS credential that validates your ability to apply and tailor the PRINCE2 method to real project scenarios. Delivered through PeopleCert, it sits above PRINCE2 Foundation and is designed for practising and aspiring project managers.

Is PRINCE2 Practitioner worth it for professionals in Reykjavik?

Yes. Reykjavik employers in energy, banking, technology and construction run large governed projects, and certified practitioners are scarce. Experienced project managers in Iceland average around kr 16.3M a year, and the credential strengthens your case for senior roles. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

    Who should take PRINCE2 Practitioner?

It suits practising project managers, PRINCE2 Foundation holders advancing to the next level, and PMP or CAPM holders moving into PRINCE2 markets. No formal work experience is required, though the exam expects a project management background.

    Is PRINCE2 recognised internationally?

Yes. PRINCE2 is recognised globally, with particular strength across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Commonwealth countries. PeopleCert operates in over 200 countries, making the credential highly portable for Icelandic professionals working across borders.

How long is the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification valid?

PRINCE2 Practitioner is valid for three years. You can renew by retaking and passing the Practitioner exam, completing CPD through a PeopleCert MyAxelos subscription, or passing a higher-level PRINCE2 qualification.

How does Practitioner differ from PRINCE2 Foundation?

Foundation is a closed-book exam testing knowledge of the method at awareness level. Practitioner is open book and scenario-based, testing your ability to apply and tailor PRINCE2. Foundation, or an accepted equivalent, is a prerequisite for Practitioner.

    Pricing

How much does PRINCE2 Practitioner training cost in Reykjavik?

PRINCE2 Practitioner training fees are quoted in Icelandic króna and vary by format and schedule. The price typically bundles accredited courseware, trainer-led sessions and exam preparation. Request a quote for current Reykjavik pricing.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee usually includes accredited PRINCE2 7 courseware, instructor-led sessions, scenario-based practice, mock exams and learner support. Confirm whether the exam voucher is bundled when you enrol.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

Exam pricing is set by PeopleCert and varies by region and channel. It is sometimes bundled with training and sometimes billed separately. Ask your learning advisor for a package that includes the Practitioner exam voucher.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer customised corporate training with volume-based pricing for teams and departments across Reykjavik. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book and scenario-based, using objective-test questions. The PRINCE2 Managing Successful Projects manual is permitted, but questions require analysis and judgement rather than simple look-up.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 56 questions and sub-questions worth 70 marks, and you have 150 minutes, which is 2 hours 30 minutes, to complete it.

What is the passing score for the Practitioner exam?

You need 60%, which is 42 out of 70 marks, to pass the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam.

What are the prerequisites to sit the exam?

You must hold PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A/B/C/D. Verify the current accepted equivalents with PeopleCert.

Where can I take the exam and which edition is it based on?

You can take it online through PeopleCert's OnVUE proctoring, available 24/7, or at an authorised test centre. The exam is based on the PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) and the PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus.

    Course Content

What topics does the PRINCE2 Practitioner training cover?

The training covers the seven principles, seven practices and seven processes of PRINCE2, plus People management, sustainability and ESG, digital and data management, communication and tailoring, across the nine syllabus areas.

Will I learn open-book exam technique?

Yes. A core part of the course is practising efficient navigation of the Managing Successful Projects manual and applying it to scenario-based questions under timed conditions.

Do I need prior experience to follow the course?

You should hold PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent knowledge. The course is scenario-led, so a project management background helps you apply the concepts, and trainers support you throughout.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive accredited PRINCE2 7 courseware, scenario exercises, practice questions and mock exams mapped to the Practitioner syllabus, plus post-training support.

Is the courseware aligned to the current syllabus?

Yes. All courseware is aligned to the PRINCE2 7th Edition (2023) and the current PRINCE2 7 Practitioner syllabus from PeopleCert and AXELOS.

How soon can I start and how do I enrol?

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training and customised corporate group training, so you can learn in the format that best fits your schedule in Reykjavik.

What are the eligibility requirements to enrol?

Anyone can enrol in the training. To sit the exam, you need PRINCE2 Foundation or an accepted equivalent credential such as PMP, CAPM or IPMA Level A/B/C/D.

Can I reschedule my enrolment to another batch?
