Assessment

Is there an exam for this course?

No. QFD training is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction, case study discussion and team exercises during the programme.

How is my learning assessed?

Learning is assessed through practical activity rather than a formal test. You build and interpret QFD matrices, classify requirements with the Kano model and calculate column importance during guided exercises, so you leave able to apply the method.

Do I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. After completing the programme you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Note this is a practical skills course, so it confirms attendance and participation rather than a formal external credential.

Will I be able to run QFD at work afterwards?

What topics does the QFD course cover?

The programme covers QFD principles and business case, Voice of the Customer capture, building and interpreting the House of Quality, resolving design conflicts, cascading QFD through four phases, and applying QFD in Design for Six Sigma, DMAIC and service design.

What is the House of Quality?

The House of Quality is the central QFD matrix. It links customer requirements to engineering characteristics, rates the strength of each relationship, benchmarks against competitors, uses a correlation roof to reveal trade-offs, and sets measurable engineering targets.

How long is the training and how is it delivered?

The course runs as a one-day, eight-hour programme, also available as two half-days. It is delivered in live virtual, classroom and corporate on-site formats, including online instructor-led sessions, so you can pick what fits your schedule.

Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. You practise structuring the Voice of the Customer with an affinity diagram, classifying needs with the Kano model, building a complete House of Quality from a realistic scenario, calculating column importance and identifying design hot spots.

Yes. While QFD began in manufacturing, the course covers its use in services such as healthcare and financial services, and in software, where user requirements are translated into architecture and test criteria. The method fits any customer-to-design translation.
