What Is Design for Six Sigma?UntitledDesigning Quality in with DMADV

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training in Israel teaches you how to design new products, services and processes that meet customer requirements and reach Six Sigma quality levels from the very start, rather than fixing defects after launch. Delivered by Invensis Learning, this practical, one-day programme is built around the DMADV roadmap: Define, Measure, Analyse, Design and Verify. You learn the core DFSS toolkit hands on: capturing the voice of the customer (VOC), translating needs into measurable CTQs, building a Quality Function Deployment (QFD) House of Quality, selecting concepts with the Pugh matrix, running a Design FMEA (DFMEA), and applying robust design so performance holds up against real-world variation. Because DFSS is the design counterpart to DMAIC, it suits engineers and quality professionals who want to prevent defects, not just correct them after the fact. This is a skills-focused course with no examination. You finish with a course completion record from Invensis Learning and tools you can use immediately on live design projects across Israel's manufacturing, medtech and high-tech industries.

Yes. Israel designs complex, high-reliability products across medical devices, semiconductors, aerospace and pharma, where designing quality in from the start is highly valued. DFSS skills help engineers move into design, R&D and quality roles and apply the tools on live projects.

DMAIC improves existing processes that are underperforming, while DFSS designs new products, services or processes correctly from the start using the DMADV roadmap. They are complementary: DMAIC improves what exists, DFSS designs what is new. This course covers DFSS and DMADV.

The training suits product design and systems engineers, R&D professionals, new product development managers, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers and Six Sigma practitioners. It is ideal for anyone responsible for designing new products, services or processes.

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with basic Six Sigma concepts such as CTQ and variation is helpful, but the course introduces all DFSS tools and the DMADV methodology from first principles.

    General

What is Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)?

Design for Six Sigma is a proactive Six Sigma methodology for designing new products, services and processes to reach Six Sigma quality levels from the outset. This training uses the DMADV roadmap, Define, Measure, Analyse, Design and Verify, with tools such as VOC, QFD, DFMEA and robust design.

Is Design for Six Sigma worth it for engineers in Israel?

Yes. Israel designs complex, high-reliability products across medical devices, semiconductors, aerospace and pharma, where designing quality in from the start is highly valued. DFSS skills help engineers move into design, R&D and quality roles and apply the tools on live projects.

How is DFSS different from DMAIC?

DMAIC improves existing processes that are underperforming, while DFSS designs new products, services or processes correctly from the start using the DMADV roadmap. They are complementary: DMAIC improves what exists, DFSS designs what is new. This course covers DFSS and DMADV.

Who should attend the Design for Six Sigma training?

The training suits product design and systems engineers, R&D professionals, new product development managers, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers and Six Sigma practitioners. It is ideal for anyone responsible for designing new products, services or processes.

Do I need prior Six Sigma knowledge to attend?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with basic Six Sigma concepts such as CTQ and variation is helpful, but the course introduces all DFSS tools and the DMADV methodology from first principles.

    Pricing

How much does the Design for Six Sigma training cost in Israel?

Pricing varies by delivery mode, group size and schedule, so the fee is available on request. Tell us whether you need individual or team training and we will share a tailored quote. Request a quote to see current options for Israel.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across the full DMADV programme, hands-on DFSS tool exercises, course materials, and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Speak with a learning advisor to confirm what is included in your chosen format.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for engineering, R&D and quality teams. Ask about corporate and group pricing for a quote tailored to your team in Israel.

Are payment or instalment options available?

Yes. We accept major cards and bank transfers, and instalment options are available on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

Is there a separate exam fee for this course?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination, so there is no exam fee. Your fee covers the training, exercises and course completion record only.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the Design for Six Sigma training?

No. This is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on DFSS tool exercises, case study examples and team discussion during the one-day programme.

Will I receive a certificate after the course?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning after finishing the programme. This is a training completion record, not a formal certification, as the course is not tied to an awarding body or exam.

How is learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply the DFSS tools, VOC to CTQ flow-down, QFD, the Pugh matrix and DFMEA, to realistic design scenarios throughout the day, so learning is checked through practical application.

Does this course award a Six Sigma belt?

No. Design for Six Sigma training builds practical design skills but does not award a belt or credential. It is a strong complement to belt-level programmes for professionals who want the design counterpart to DMAIC.

How can I show employers what I learned?

You can share your course completion record from Invensis Learning and, more importantly, demonstrate the DFSS tools on real work, running VOC workshops, building a QFD, leading a DFMEA and structuring design verification.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the Design for Six Sigma course?

You will learn the full DMADV methodology and the core DFSS toolkit: capturing VOC, translating needs into CTQs, building a QFD House of Quality, selecting concepts with the Pugh matrix, running a DFMEA, applying robust design, and verifying and transferring designs.

Which DFSS methodology does the course use?

The course is built around DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify), the most widely used DFSS roadmap. It also introduces alternative frameworks such as IDOV and DMADOV so you understand how organisations adapt the approach.

What tools are covered in the training?

You cover VOC capture and the Kano model, CTQ flow-down, Quality Function Deployment, the Pugh concept selection matrix, Design FMEA with RPN, robust design and the P-diagram, tolerancing, DOE awareness, and design verification, validation and transfer.

How long is the training and what is the format?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours), covering all six DMADV phases with concept explanations, real-world design examples and hands-on tool exercises. It is available in live virtual, classroom and onsite formats.

Are there hands-on exercises in the course?

Yes. You practise VOC to CTQ flow-down, build a QFD House of Quality, apply the Pugh matrix and complete a DFMEA worksheet, all using realistic product or process design scenarios so you can apply the tools immediately at work.
