    Who should take PMI-CP training?

    Is the PMI-CP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PMI-CP carries global recognition through PMI's network across more than 200 countries. It is valued in international construction markets where clients and contractors look for globally recognised project management credentials.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is closed book with 120 questions in multiple-choice formats, both single-answer and multiple-answer. It is based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and delivered via Pearson VUE, either online proctored or at a test centre.

How long is the PMI-CP exam and how many questions?

The exam has 120 questions and you are allotted 230 minutes, which is 3 hours 50 minutes. It is closed book and covers the four PMI-CP domains across construction contracts, stakeholders, strategy and scope, and governance.

What are the PMI-CP eligibility requirements?

You must complete all four self-paced prerequisite modules, plus meet one experience set: a secondary diploma with 60 months construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months. All sets require 35 contact hours of project management education.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so focus on broad mastery across all four domains.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

You are permitted up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility window from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to later attempts. Our practice questions, mock exams and trainer guidance are designed to build your readiness before you sit.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-CP training?

You will learn construction contract management, stakeholder engagement, strategy and scope management, and project governance, mapped to the four PMI-CP domains. The programme also covers risk, insurance, claims, change orders and exam strategy across the construction lifecycle.

What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules?

Before applying you complete four self-paced modules, in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each is a 6 to 10 hour commitment and awards 14 PDUs, for 56 PDUs in total.

Does this training meet the education prerequisite?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, close to but below the 35 contact hours of project management education PMI requires across all eligibility sets. Check with us on how supplementary self-study or pre-reading can help you reach the 35-hour threshold.

Is the courseware aligned to the current PMI-CP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide, covering the four domains and their tasks and enablers as defined by PMI for construction project management.
