    Now you have

A globally portable credential that travels across sectors and construction markets

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PMI-CP (PMI Construction Professional) is PMI's specialist credential for professionals who deliver construction projects. It validates construction-specific project management skill across four domains and is built for construction project managers, site and project engineers, and owner's representatives.

    General

What is the PMI-CP certification and who is it for?

PMI-CP (PMI Construction Professional) is PMI's specialist credential for professionals who deliver construction projects. It validates construction-specific project management skill across four domains and is built for construction project managers, site and project engineers, and owner's representatives.

Is the PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals in Rijeka?

Yes. With major port, railway, healthcare and building projects underway across Rijeka and the Kvarner region, employers increasingly value proven construction project management skill. PMI-CP helps you stand out for construction project manager and contracts manager roles.

Is the PMP required before taking PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can pursue PMI-CP directly based on your construction experience and education. The two are complementary, with PMP covering general project management and PMI-CP validating construction-specific expertise.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle. The 56 PDUs from the four prerequisite modules can be applied toward renewal.

    Is the PMI-CP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, PMI-CP carries global recognition through PMI's network across more than 200 countries. It is valued in international construction markets where clients and contractors seek globally recognised project management credentials.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Rijeka?

PMI-CP training fees vary by format and are available on request. The fee covers instruction, courseware, practice questions and learner support. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Contact a learning advisor for a tailored quote.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, guidance on the four prerequisite modules and the PMI-CP application, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-CP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. For reference, it is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members. Confirm current fees on pmi.org before applying.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for site teams, PMOs and project leadership groups. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition. It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is 3 hours and 50 minutes. Questions use single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice formats.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

There are four domains per the ECO: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%), and Project Governance (5%). Contracts Management is the heaviest, reflecting how central contracts are to construction.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You may attempt the exam up to three times within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to later attempts. Our practice questions and mock exams are designed to help you pass with confidence.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the PMI-CP training?

The training covers the four ECO domains: Contracts Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Strategy and Scope Management, and Project Governance. This spans contract types, claims, variations, stakeholder engagement, scope, schedule, risk, quality and governance.

What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules?

All candidates must complete four self-paced modules before applying: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each awards 14 PDUs, for 56 PDUs in total, and can be taken in any order.

Does this training meet the 35 contact hours requirement?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of project management education PMI requires. Check with our team whether supplementary self-study is credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

Which standard and edition is the training aligned to?

The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition, together with construction industry standards and practices referenced in the PMI-CP ECO and Handbook.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned. These contact hours support your PMI-CP application and can count toward PDUs.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for PMI-CP?

Anyone can join the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires the four prerequisite modules plus one of three experience and education sets, ranging from a secondary diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience to a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months, each with 35 contact hours.
