What Is Driving Demand for Construction PM Skills in Greece

    Skilled Construction Talent Shortage

Greece faces a shortage of skilled construction workers and managers after the brain drain, so credentialed project leaders who can run major works are scarce and sought-after.

The PMI-CP makes certified construction leaders stand out

    Mega-Project Contract Complexity

Projects like the VOAK motorway, Athens Metro Line 4 and Ellinikon run into billions, demanding contract administration, variation control and claims management at scale, the PMI-CP's largest domain.

The PMI-CP builds contracts and claims capability

    RRF Delivery Deadline Pressure

With Greece 2.0 milestones due by August 2026, contractors need disciplined scope, schedule and risk control to deliver EU-funded works on time and to budget.

The PMI-CP builds scope, risk and governance skills

    PPP and Concession Governance

A wave of PPP and concession projects raises the bar for governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement, exactly the frameworks the PMI-CP validates.

The PMI-CP builds project governance skills

    Claims and Dispute Exposure

Delay, disruption and differing site conditions drive costly claims on Greek megaprojects. Professionals who can notify, document and resolve them protect margin and schedule.

The PMI-CP builds claims and dispute management skills

    Global Standards for Global Contractors

Greek groups win work abroad and international firms bid at home, so a globally recognised PMI credential signals delivery competency across borders and clients.

The PMI-CP is recognised across international markets

The PMI-CP is more than a credential. It is a career multiplier for construction project leaders in a booming Greek market. Join professionals who deliver complex projects with contracts-led discipline. Start your journey today.

    Your Greece Construction Career Shift

Your Construction Career, Before and After PMI-CP

    The Transformation in Greece

Greece's construction market is expanding with EU-funded infrastructure, tourism and energy investment, and employers increasingly separate certified construction leaders from the rest. Here is which side of that line you want to be on.

    Today

Pay capped with little leverage to negotiate in the Greek market

    After PMI-CP

Construction PM roles in Greece average around €38,200, with contracts and QS managers near €53,800

    Today

Overlooked for roles that list the PMI-CP or equivalent as preferred

    After PMI-CP

Eligible for senior roles on motorway, metro, energy and Ellinikon-scale projects

    Today

Confident on site, but employers want portfolio-grade governance

    After PMI-CP

Fluent in the contracts-led delivery and governance the credential validates

    You earn your PMI-CP

    Before

Construction PM authority rests on years on site, not a recognised credential

    Now you have

A PMI credential recognised by leading Greek and global contractors

    Before

Limited to package or project level with no formal PM mandate

    Now you have

A clear route into senior construction project and programme roles

    Before

Strong on delivery, but light on contract administration and claims

    Now you have

Command of contracts, stakeholders, scope and governance employers want

    Before

Recognition fades when you change contractor, sector or country

    Now you have

A globally portable credential valued across construction markets

"On major projects, the gap between running a site and leading delivery is increasingly a recognised credential, and the contractors that matter already know it."

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry, validating your ability to apply project management skills across the construction lifecycle. It suits construction project managers, site managers, project engineers and owner's representatives with construction project management experience.

    General

What is the PMI-CP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry, validating your ability to apply project management skills across the construction lifecycle. It suits construction project managers, site managers, project engineers and owner's representatives with construction project management experience.

Is the PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals in Greece?

Yes. Greece is in a construction upcycle driven by RRF-funded motorways, metro, energy and regeneration projects, and certified construction leaders are in demand. With a skilled-talent shortage, the PMI-CP helps you stand out for senior roles that pay well above entry level.

Is the PMI-CP recognised in Greece?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-CP carries global recognition through PMI's network in over 200 countries. It is valued by Greek contractors and international firms working on major projects who seek a globally recognised construction project management credential.

Do I need a PMP before the PMI-CP?

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two credentials are complementary, with the PMP covering general PM and the PMI-CP validating construction-specific expertise.

How long is the PMI-CP valid and how is it renewed?

The PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with at least 8 PDUs in each area. The 56 PDUs from the four prerequisite modules can be applied toward renewal.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Greece?

PMI-CP training fees in Greece vary by format and schedule, so pricing is available on request. The fee typically covers PMI-aligned courseware, exam practice and learner support. Request a quote or speak with a learning advisor for current batch pricing.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PMI-CP exam fee separately. For reference, it is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members, and prices may vary by region. Verify the current fee on pmi.org before you apply.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, domain-weighted practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, guidance on the four prerequisite modules and the application, and learner support with a course completion certificate.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts for PMI-CP training?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction project teams and PMOs. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Talk to a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions to be completed in 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). It is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats, based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

What are the four PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers four domains per the ECO: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts Management is by far the largest, reflecting the centrality of contracts in construction.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback (Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement), so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

How many attempts do I get for the PMI-CP exam?

You get up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from the date your application is approved. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm current amounts on pmi.org.

Where can I take the PMI-CP exam in Greece?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done via Pearson VUE or the PMI portal within your eligibility window.

    Course Content

What topics does the PMI-CP training cover?

The training covers all four PMI-CP domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%), plus claims, variations, exam strategy and guidance on the PMI application.

What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules?

Before applying, all candidates complete four self-paced PMI-CP modules in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each is a 6 to 10 hour commitment and awards 14 PDUs, 56 PDUs in total.

Does this training meet the PMI-CP education prerequisite?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of project management education required across all three eligibility sets. Check with our team on supplementary self-study credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes domain-weighted practice questions and full-length mock exams aligned to the 120-question, 230-minute format, plus topic-wise quizzes to help you find and fix weak areas before exam day.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMI-CP ECO?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and its four domains, and to the PMBOK Guide and construction industry standards that underpin the credential.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-CP?

Eligibility has two parts. Part one: complete all four prerequisite modules. Part two: meet one set of experience and education, for example a bachelor's degree plus 36 months of construction PM experience within the past 10 years and 35 contact hours of PM education.

How do I enrol in the PMI-CP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and project commitments in Greece.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?
