What Is the PgMP Credential, and Who Is It For?UntitledPMI's Benchmark for Programme Leaders

The Program Management Professional (PgMP) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. PgMP certification training in Georgia prepares experienced managers to lead at the programme level, connecting delivery to organisational strategy across banking, IT services, energy and public-sector programmes. The programme is aligned to PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the PgMP Examination Content Outline (ECO), and it covers the five performance domains PMI tests: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance. You also get guidance on the rigorous PgMP application and the subject-matter-expert panel review, both of which sit alongside the written exam. Held by fewer than 3,000 practitioners worldwide, the PgMP is one of PMI's most exclusive credentials, which makes it a genuine differentiator for programme leaders in Georgia's fast-growing market. Delivered in live virtual, classroom and corporate formats, the training suits senior programme managers, PMP holders moving up, and PMO leaders. Market Forces Driving PgMP Demand Across Georgia

    Governance Maturity Gap

Many Georgian firms have scaled delivery fast but still lack a strategy-aligned programme governance layer, the exact capability the PgMP is designed to build.

    PgMP builds programme governance skills

    Strategy to Execution Disconnect

Boards fund digital and capex programmes, but weak links between strategy and the funded work cause value leakage that programme leaders are hired to fix.

    PgMP builds benefits-realisation skills

    Rapid IT Sector Scaling

International firms entering through the IT Virtual Zone are scaling teams quickly, creating demand for programme-grade prioritisation and cross-project coordination.

    PgMP builds coordination at scale

    Programme Talent Scarcity

Georgia's talent pool is deep in project managers but thin in credentialed programme managers. The PgMP's rigorous eligibility and panel review make holders rare.

PgMP makes certified leaders stand out

    EU Reform and Donor Programmes

EU candidate status is bringing multi-project reform and donor-funded programmes that demand formal governance, benefits tracking and stakeholder management.

    PgMP builds multi-project oversight skills

Capital Discipline in Banking and Energy

Cost and capital pressure in banking, energy and infrastructure pushes organisations to rebalance their programmes to strategy and cut low-value work.

Shortlisted less often for programme roles that list the PgMP as preferred

    After PgMP

Eligible for senior programme roles across banking, IT services, energy and infrastructure

    Today

Confident in delivery, but employers want programme-level governance

    After PgMP

Fluent in linking programmes to strategy and governing benefits at scale

    Before

Programme authority resting on tenure, not a recognised credential

    Now you have

A PMI programme credential recognised by leading Georgian and global employers

    Before

Stuck at project level with no formal programme mandate

    Now you have

A clear route into programme director and head of PMO roles

    Before

Delivery focused, with limited line of sight to strategy

    Now you have

The governance skills employers want: benefits, prioritisation and stakeholder engagement

    Before

Recognition that fades when you change sector or employer

    Now you have

A globally recognised credential that travels across sectors and borders

"The gap between delivering projects and leading a programme is increasingly a recognised credential, and the organisations that matter already know it."

Capabilities You Will Build in This ProgrammeAcross the Five PgMP Performance Domains

By the end of the training you will be able to align programmes to strategy, govern benefits at scale, and prepare for both the PgMP exam and panel review. The skills map directly to PMI's five performance domains, so what you learn is exactly what the credential validates.

    Strategic Programme Alignment

Skills covered in PgMP training start here: assess the organisational strategy, define programme objectives and roadmaps, build the business case, and manage strategic change so your programme delivers benefits that separate projects could not.

    Programme Life Cycle Delivery

Initiate, plan, execute and close a programme end to end, coordinating component projects, finances, scope, schedule, quality and procurement. This is the largest domain of the PgMP exam and the core of day-to-day programme leadership.

    Benefits Realisation Management

Identify, map, plan, monitor and sustain programme benefits, tying delivery to measurable strategic outcomes and preparing the receiving organisation to hold on to those benefits after the programme closes.

    Stakeholder Engagement at Scale

Identify and analyse programme stakeholders, build engagement plans, influence senior sponsors, and resolve competing interests across a complex programme environment with many moving parts.

    Programme Governance and Oversight

Establish governance frameworks, boards and decision rights, authorise and control components, run audits and reviews, and manage change so the programme stays aligned and accountable throughout its life.

    Application and Panel Review Readiness

Document your programme management experience for the PMI application, prepare for the subject-matter-expert panel review, and practise against the 170-question, four-hour exam format so you approach both stages with confidence.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The Program Management Professional (PgMP) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It suits senior programme managers, PMO heads, delivery directors and PMP holders moving into programme leadership.

    General

What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

The Program Management Professional (PgMP) is PMI's senior credential for professionals who manage multiple related projects as one coordinated programme to deliver strategic benefits. It suits senior programme managers, PMO heads, delivery directors and PMP holders moving into programme leadership.

Is the PgMP worth it for my career in Georgia?

Yes. The PgMP is a strong differentiator in Georgia's fast-growing IT, banking and infrastructure market, where certified programme leaders are scarce. Senior programme roles in the IT sector average around 124,153 lari a year, with director bands higher, and the credential opens routes to head of PMO and programme director roles.

Is the PgMP recognised internationally and in Georgia?

Yes. The PgMP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued across more than 200 countries, including by Georgian employers in banking, IT services, telecoms, energy and consulting. With fewer than 3,000 holders worldwide, it is one of PMI's most exclusive certifications.

Do I need PMP before taking the PgMP?

No, the PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three PgMP eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their programme management experience.

How long is the PgMP valid and how do I renew it?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area.

    Pricing

How much does PgMP training cost in Georgia?

Training fees vary by format, such as live virtual, classroom or corporate group training. Pricing for public batches in Georgia is available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote or talk to a learning advisor for current pricing.

What is included in the PgMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application and panel-review support, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Ask us for a full inclusions list for your chosen format.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, and PMI members pay a lower rate than non-members. Membership also reduces renewal costs and gives access to the Standard for Program Management. Confirm current fees on PMI.org before applying.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for PMOs, transformation offices and leadership teams across Georgia. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

What payment and instalment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario-based questions across the five programme management performance domains.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours. Results are reported with domain-level feedback, such as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, rather than a single percentage score.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers five domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), all aligned to the 4th edition of the Standard for Program Management.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is a mandatory step alongside the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, and reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our preparation, mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you pass with confidence. Ask about our retake support options.

Where can I take the PgMP exam in Georgia?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through Pearson VUE or the PMI portal within your one-year eligibility window.

    Course Content

What topics does the PgMP training cover?

The training covers the five performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus guidance on the PMI application, panel review and exam strategy.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PgMP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline, so your preparation matches exactly what the exam tests.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the PgMP Examination Content Outline, so you can identify weak areas and build readiness for the four-hour exam.

Do I need prior experience to benefit from the training?

The PgMP is a senior credential, so learners are typically experienced programme or project managers. The training assumes real delivery experience and builds on it, helping you frame that experience for both the exam and the panel review.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned. This training is exam preparation and is separate from the PMI credential you earn by passing the exam and panel review.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP?

PMI offers three sets. With a secondary diploma: 48 months of project management experience or an active PMP, plus 84 months of programme management experience. With a four-year degree: the same project requirement plus 48 months of programme experience. A GAC-accredited degree reduces the programme requirement to 36 months. All experience must fall within the last 15 years.

How do I enrol in the PgMP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you would like help choosing a batch.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live virtual (online) instructor-led training, classroom training, self-paced e-learning, and customised corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans let you attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange a change that suits you.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back option. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment before you book.
