The Scrum Skills You Will BuildCapabilities for the Scrum Master Role

This CSM training builds practical Scrum framework knowledge and the facilitation, coaching and servant leadership skills a Scrum Master needs. By the end, you can run Scrum events, manage artifacts and support a team through delivery.

    Scrum Theory and Empiricism

The skills covered in the CSM course start with Scrum's foundations: empirical process control and the three pillars of transparency, inspection and adaptation. You will learn why Scrum thrives in complex work, how it connects to the Agile Manifesto, and how it differs from predictive delivery.

    The Five Scrum Values

Apply commitment, focus, openness, respect and courage as the culture that makes Scrum work. You will see how living the values builds trust, enables the three pillars, and how the Scrum Master models them for the team.

    Building an Effective Scrum Team

Understand the Scrum Team structure and the three accountabilities: Scrum Master, Product Owner and Developers. You will learn self-management, cross-functionality and how a small, cohesive team creates value each sprint.

    Facilitating the Five Scrum Events

Facilitate the Sprint, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective, including their timeboxes and purpose. You will practise retrospective and daily scrum formats and learn to protect the sprint from disruption.

    Managing Scrum Artifacts

Work with the Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog and Increment, and the commitments that give them focus: the Product Goal, Sprint Goal and Definition of Done. You will learn backlog refinement and how artifacts create transparency.

The Scrum Master as Servant Leader

Lead as a servant leader across three service areas: the Scrum Team, the Product Owner and the organisation. You will build coaching, facilitation and impediment-removal skills that turn framework knowledge into real delivery impact.

Do I need to attend a course to get the CSM?

Which standard is the CSM course aligned to?

How do I enrol in the CSM course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred schedule and format, complete payment, and you will receive access to your session details, courseware and learning resources. Talk to an advisor if you need help choosing a batch.
