Construction Market Forces Driving PMI-CP Demand in France

    Contract and Claims Complexity

French construction runs on detailed contracts and tight claim deadlines. Weak contract administration drives disputes and cost overruns, the exact gap PMI-CP's 50% Contracts Management domain is built to close.

PMI-CP builds contract and claims skills

    Grand Paris Express Scale

The 36.1bn euro Grand Paris Express spans around 200km of metro and 68 stations, demanding portfolio-grade prioritisation, risk aggregation and cross-programme coordination.

PMI-CP builds governance and coordination skills

    Green Building and RE2020 Pressure

France's energy-retrofit wave and RE2020 rules push stricter environmental targets, forcing tighter scope, quality and governance on every build and renovation.

PMI-CP builds scope and governance skills

    Certified Leader Shortage

France has deep site talent but few construction-specific credential holders. PMI-CP's prerequisite modules and experience bar make certified leaders rare and sought-after.

PMI-CP makes certified leaders stand out

    Rising Cost and Material Risk

Rising material costs and margin pressure at major contractors demand disciplined budgeting, earned value tracking and portfolio-level cost control across projects.

PMI-CP builds cost and risk skills

    Stakeholder and Permitting Load

Dense permitting, community and authority requirements on urban projects make structured stakeholder engagement essential to keep programmes on schedule.

The Upgrade Employers in France Value

France's construction market is expanding with Grand Paris Express, energy retrofits and new industrial builds, and employers increasingly separate certified construction leaders from the rest. Here is which side of that line you want to be on.

    Today

Salary capped, with limited leverage to negotiate senior construction roles

Eligible for senior delivery roles across rail, energy, industrial and commercial construction

    Today

Strong on site, but employers want contract and portfolio-level governance

    After PMI-CP

Fluent in construction contracts, claims, scope control and project governance

    You earn your PMI-CP

    Before

Authority based on tenure, not a globally recognised construction credential

    Now you have

A PMI credential recognised by Vinci, Bouygues, Eiffage and global employers

    Before

Stuck at site or works level with no formal project mandate

    Now you have

A clear route into construction manager, contract manager and project director roles

    Before

Contract and claims exposure managed reactively as issues arise

    Now you have

The skills to administer contracts, manage variations and cut disputes on site

Recognition limited when you change employer or country

    Now you have

A credential that travels across sectors and international construction markets

The PMI-CP (PMI Construction Professional) certification path in France is a structured single-exam track. Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

PMI-CP is PMI's specialist certification for construction project management. It validates your ability to deliver construction projects across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%), aligned to the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

    General

What is the PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) certification?

PMI-CP is PMI's specialist certification for construction project management. It validates your ability to deliver construction projects across four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%), aligned to the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

Who should take PMI-CP training in France?

PMI-CP suits construction project managers, site and works managers, contract managers, owner's representatives and PMP holders working in construction. It is ideal for professionals ready to move from site delivery into project-level leadership on French builds.

Is PMI-CP recognised by construction employers in France?

Yes. As a PMI credential recognised in over 200 countries, PMI-CP is valued by French majors such as Vinci, Bouygues Construction and Eiffage, as well as engineering firms and public bodies delivering rail, energy and infrastructure programmes.

Is a PMP certification required before PMI-CP?

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for PMI-CP. You can apply based on your construction project management experience and education. The two are complementary: PMP covers general project management, while PMI-CP validates construction-specific expertise.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

PMI-CP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year cycle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each area, reported through PMI's continuing certification requirements system.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in France?

PMI-CP training in France is quoted in euros and varies by format and schedule, so pricing is available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for current batch pricing.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, guidance on the four prerequisite modules and application support, plus learner support and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. For reference, it is around USD 520 for PMI members and USD 670 for non-members; confirm current fees at pmi.org before applying, as PMI updates pricing periodically.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing for PMI-CP?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for construction teams, project offices and leadership groups. Contact us for a tailored group quote for your organisation.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the payment option that suits you.

    Exam

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-CP exam has 120 questions and a duration of 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes). It is closed book, with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions delivered via Pearson VUE.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

There are four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). The heavy contracts weighting reflects the centrality of contract administration in construction delivery.

Which standard is the PMI-CP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline (ECO), set by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and aligned to the PMBOK Guide 8th Edition and construction industry standards. Our courseware follows the current ECO.

What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The result is set through psychometric analysis, with domain feedback reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

How many attempts do I get and where can I sit the exam?

You get up to three attempts within a one-year eligibility window from application approval. Sit the exam via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre in France or worldwide.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-CP course?

You learn to manage construction contracts and claims, engage owners and authorities, control scope, schedule, cost and risk, and set up project governance and reporting. The curriculum maps to all four PMI-CP exam domains.

Do I need to complete the four PMI-CP modules before applying?

Yes. PMI requires all four self-paced modules before you apply: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each awards 14 PDUs, for 56 PDUs in total. We guide you through them.

Does this training meet the 35-hour education requirement?

The instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below PMI's 35 contact-hour requirement. Check with our team whether supplementary self-study or pre-reading can be credited toward the 35-hour threshold.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest standard?

Yes. The courseware follows the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the 8th edition of the PMBOK Guide, so you study against the standard the exam is actually based on.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions mapped to the ECO, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes that mirror the 120-question, closed-book format, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements for PMI-CP?

You must complete all four prerequisite modules and meet one experience set: a secondary diploma with 60 months construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months, each within the past 10 years, plus 35 contact hours.

How do I enrol in the PMI-CP course?

Enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Our team can guide you on the PMI application steps.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training, self-paced e-learning and customised corporate group training, so you can pick the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

How soon can I start the PMI-CP training?

New batches run regularly across live virtual and classroom formats, and self-paced e-learning starts as soon as you enrol. See upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor to find the next batch that suits you.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans include a pass to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange a change and to confirm the refund policy that applies to your enrolment.
