How to Get PMI-ACP Certified in DenmarkStep-by-Step Certification Process

The path to Online PMI-ACP certification follows a streamlined exam-based process. After completing the required training and obtaining PMI approval, candidates proceed directly to the certification examination administered through Pearson VUE. Unlike some senior PMI credentials, PMI-ACP does not require a peer-panel review. Most candidates complete the journey from training to certification within 6–10 weeks, depending on preparation time and application processing.

What is the PMI-ACP certification and who is it for?

Is the PMI-ACP worth it for professionals in Denmark?

Yes. As Danish employers in life sciences, finance, logistics and the public sector scale agile delivery, cross-framework practitioners are in demand. Certified roles such as Scrum Master and agile coach command strong salaries, making the PMI-ACP a valuable career investment.

What are the prerequisites for the PMI-ACP?

You need a secondary degree, 2,000 hours of general project experience within the last five years, 1,500 hours of agile experience within the last three years, and 21 contact hours of agile training. PMP or PgMP holders already meet the general project experience requirement.

How is the PMI-ACP different from a Scrum certification?

Scrum certifications cover the Scrum framework only. The PMI-ACP spans multiple agile approaches including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP and TDD, and requires proven experience, so it demonstrates broader, experience-backed agile capability.

How long is the PMI-ACP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-ACP is valid for three years. To renew it, you earn 30 PDUs in agile topics within each three-year cycle and report them through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system.

Is the PMI-ACP recognised internationally?

Yes. PMI is a globally recognised body with members in over 200 countries, and employers worldwide, including across Denmark, value the PMI-ACP as a rigorous, experience-backed agile credential.

Pricing

What is included in the PMI-ACP training fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, the 21 contact hours you need to apply, practice questions, mock exams, application guidance and learner support. The PMI exam fee is billed separately. Request a quote for current pricing.

How much does the PMI-ACP exam cost?

PMI bills the exam fee in USD, and members pay less than non-members (for reference, around USD 435 for members and USD 495 for non-members; verify current fees at pmi.org). PMI membership can reduce the exam cost and gives access to resources such as the Agile Practice Guide.

Is the exam fee included in the course price?

No. The PMI exam fee is paid separately to PMI in USD under its regional pricing. Your training fee covers the instruction, the required contact hours and preparation resources.

How many questions are on the PMI-ACP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-ACP exam has 120 multiple-choice questions and a three-hour time limit. It is closed book and delivered online with Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What does the PMI-ACP exam cover?

The exam covers seven agile domains from the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline: Agile Principles and Mindset (16%), Value-Driven Delivery (20%), Stakeholder Engagement (17%), Team Performance (16%), Adaptive Planning (12%), Problem Detection and Resolution (10%) and Continuous Improvement (9%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-ACP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The passing score is set through psychometric analysis, and results are reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement across the seven domains.

Which syllabus is the PMI-ACP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline published in January 2018, which remains the current version. It is supported by references such as PMI's Agile Practice Guide.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

You may take up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period, and re-examination fees apply to later attempts. Our mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you pass with confidence.

Where can I take the PMI-ACP exam in Denmark?

You can sit the exam online from home or office through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website.

Which agile frameworks does the course cover?

The training covers Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Extreme Programming (XP) and Test-Driven Development, alongside tools such as story points, velocity tracking, burndown charts and retrospectives, so you can work across delivery contexts.

Does the course provide the 21 contact hours PMI requires?

Yes. The programme delivers 24 contact hours of agile training, which exceeds and fully satisfies the 21 contact hours PMI requires before you can apply for the PMI-ACP exam.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams aligned to the 120-question, three-hour format, plus quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build readiness.

Do I need prior agile experience to benefit from the course?

The PMI-ACP suits professionals with agile experience, but the training builds understanding step by step. Trainers use real examples so both newer and experienced practitioners can follow and apply the concepts.
