Governance Pressures Shaping Costa Rica's IT Market

    Governance Maturity Gap

Costa Rica's nearshore centres run large, complex IT estates, yet many operations lack a mature, strategy-aligned governance layer, the exact gap the COBIT 5 implementation lifecycle is built to close.

COBIT 5 builds the seven-phase implementation approach

    Financial-Sector Regulation

Banks and fintechs supervised by SUGEF face rising expectations on IT governance and risk, driving demand for professionals who can lead structured, evidence-based governance improvement.

COBIT 5 builds governance and compliance capability

    Strategy-Execution Gap

Boards fund digital-transformation and cloud programmes, but weak links between strategy and IT decisions cause value leakage that governance leaders are now hired to fix.

COBIT 5 builds prioritisation and value skills

    IT Risk and Cyber Pressure

As cloud, data and cybersecurity work scales across Costa Rica's tech hubs, organisations need governance professionals who can embed controls and manage IT risk at enterprise scale.

COBIT 5 builds risk and control capability

    Scarcity of Governance Leaders

Costa Rica's talent pool is deep in project delivery but thin in credentialed governance leaders. The COBIT 5 Implementation credential makes holders rare and sought-after.

COBIT 5 makes certified professionals stand out

    Capital-Efficiency Pressure

Cost discipline across shared-services and IT operations pushes organisations to optimise their IT investment, retire low-value work and rebalance to strategy through disciplined governance.
