What Is Kaizen and Why It Matters for Ivorian TeamsUntitledYour Guide to Continuous Improvement

Kaizen Training in Ivory Coast is a practical, non-certification programme that teaches teams to improve processes through small, continuous changes rather than large, one-off projects. Kaizen, Japanese for change for the better, grew out of the Toyota Production System (TPS) and was introduced to the wider business world by Masaaki Imai in his 1986 book Kaizen: The Key to Japan's Competitive Success. It is a cornerstone of Lean management and operational excellence. Over one focused day you learn the Kaizen philosophy, the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle, how to spot the eight wastes at the Gemba, and how to plan and run a structured Kaizen event. Hands-on simulation exercises let you practise the method on realistic scenarios, so you leave able to apply it immediately. The programme suits operations managers, team leaders, quality professionals and Lean practitioners in Ivory Coast's fast-growing agro-industry, FMCG, logistics and manufacturing sectors. There is no exam; on completion you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Start building a continuous improvement habit with Invensis Learning.

Why Kaizen Skills Are Worth BuildingFor Your Career and Your Team

    For Individuals

Whether you are a production supervisor, quality professional, team leader or Lean coordinator in Ivory Coast, the training gives you a method and a common language for improvement that employers across sectors recognise.

If you want to stand out as someone who makes processes better, Kaizen is a clear place to start. You gain confidence with PDCA, 5S and standard work, plus the facilitation skills to turn small daily changes into lasting gains.

What Is Driving Demand for Continuous Improvement in Ivory Coast

    Moving Beyond Raw Exports

Ivory Coast still exports much of its cocoa and cashew unprocessed. As the state pushes local value-addition, new plants must eliminate waste and improve flow to compete on cost.

Kaizen improves processing flow and yield

    Productivity and Yield Gaps

Many operations run with high scrap, downtime and rework. Kaizen gives teams a structured way to find and remove waste at the Gemba and lift throughput.

    Kaizen targets the eight wastes

    Quality and Export Compliance

Export buyers demand consistent quality. 5S, standard work and root cause analysis help plants hold conformance and cut costly defects and complaints.

    Standard work sustains conformance

    Rising Input and Energy Costs

Higher raw material and energy costs squeeze margins. Continuous improvement helps teams raise equipment effectiveness and do more with the same resources.

    Kaizen protects margins

    Shortage of Improvement Facilitators

Ivory Coast has a deep operator pool but few people trained to plan and lead improvement events. Kaizen skills make facilitators rare and valuable.

    Training builds internal facilitators

    Rapid Industrial Expansion

With large investment under the NDP 2026-2030, new sites are opening fast. Teams need one common improvement language to scale quality and efficiency.

    A shared method scales improvement

"As an L&D sponsor I wanted training our supervisors could use immediately, not theory. The tailored scenarios and practical exercises delivered exactly that, and we now have internal facilitators running events."

    Kaizen

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Kaizen is a Japanese continuous improvement approach that improves processes through small, ongoing changes made by everyone, every day. It comes from the Toyota Production System and was popularised by Masaaki Imai in 1986. This training is worth it because you leave with a practical method and tools you can use at work immediately, with no exam to pass.

This training is worth it because you leave with a practical method and tools you can use at work immediately, with no exam to pass.

It suits operations and manufacturing managers, Lean coordinators, continuous improvement officers, production supervisors, team leaders and quality professionals in Ivory Coast. It is relevant to any sector where teams want structured, team-based improvement, including agro-industry, FMCG, logistics and services.

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Some familiarity with Lean ideas such as waste and flow is helpful, but the course introduces every concept from first principles, so beginners and experienced practitioners both benefit.

Yes. Kaizen is a core discipline of Lean management and operational excellence, valued by agro-industry, FMCG, manufacturing and logistics employers across Ivory Coast who are working to improve quality, cut waste and add more value locally.

Kaizen favours many small, continuous improvements over rare, large transformations. Alongside the daily mindset, it uses the structured Kaizen event, a short, focused team workshop that targets one process problem and implements changes quickly, then sustains them with standard work.

    General

What is Kaizen and is this training worth it?

Kaizen is a Japanese continuous improvement approach that improves processes through small, ongoing changes made by everyone, every day. It comes from the Toyota Production System and was popularised by Masaaki Imai in 1986. This training is worth it because you leave with a practical method and tools you can use at work immediately, with no exam to pass.

Who should attend the Kaizen training?

It suits operations and manufacturing managers, Lean coordinators, continuous improvement officers, production supervisors, team leaders and quality professionals in Ivory Coast. It is relevant to any sector where teams want structured, team-based improvement, including agro-industry, FMCG, logistics and services.

Do I need prior Lean experience to join?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Some familiarity with Lean ideas such as waste and flow is helpful, but the course introduces every concept from first principles, so beginners and experienced practitioners both benefit.

Is Kaizen recognised by employers in Ivory Coast?

Yes. Kaizen is a core discipline of Lean management and operational excellence, valued by agro-industry, FMCG, manufacturing and logistics employers across Ivory Coast who are working to improve quality, cut waste and add more value locally.

How is Kaizen different from a big improvement project?

Kaizen favours many small, continuous improvements over rare, large transformations. Alongside the daily mindset, it uses the structured Kaizen event, a short, focused team workshop that targets one process problem and implements changes quickly, then sustains them with standard work.

    Pricing

How much does the Kaizen training cost in Ivory Coast?

Pricing varies by delivery mode, group size and format, so fees for public and corporate sessions are available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a current quote for individual or team training.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee covers instructor-led delivery across all six Kaizen modules, hands-on event simulation exercises, course materials and templates, learner support, and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Request a quote to confirm what is included in your chosen format.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. Corporate group training is available with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments. It is often the best value because your people practise on your own real processes. Ask about a group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer flexible options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the arrangement that suits you or your organisation.

Is corporate training cheaper per person than public sessions?

For teams, corporate delivery is usually the most cost-effective route, as pricing is based on the group rather than per public seat. It also lets the trainer tailor the content to your operations. Contact us for a tailored quote.

    Assessment

Is there an exam or certification for this course?

No. Kaizen training is a non-certification skills course with no exam and no formal credential from an awarding body. Learning is reinforced through hands-on workshop simulation, team exercises and discussion during the programme.

What do I receive on completion?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. It confirms you have completed the programme and built practical Kaizen facilitation and continuous improvement skills that you can apply immediately at work.

    How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you practise the method throughout the day using realistic Kaizen event simulations and team activities, so you build confidence by doing rather than by sitting a test.

Will I be able to run a Kaizen event after the training?

Yes. You learn to plan a Kaizen event, facilitate it through its phases from Gemba observation to closeout, apply tools like 5S and standard work, and sustain the gains, then practise these steps during the course simulation.

Is the course completion record the same as a certification?

No. A course completion record confirms you attended and completed the training; it is not a formal certification or credential from an awarding body. Kaizen itself has no governing body or exam, so the value comes from the practical skills you build, not a certificate.

    Course Content

What topics does the Kaizen training cover?

It covers the Kaizen philosophy, the PDCA cycle and thinking tools, planning a Kaizen event, running an event phase by phase, core tools in practice, and sustaining improvements. Tools include Gemba walks, the eight wastes, 5 Whys, 5S, standard work and the Kaizen newspaper.

How long is the Kaizen training?

The programme runs for one day of about 8 hours, covering all six modules with concept explanations, real-world examples and hands-on simulation exercises. An extended half-day format across two days is also possible depending on scheduling.

What tools and frameworks will I practise?

You practise the PDCA cycle, Gemba observation, Muda, Mura and Muri, the eight wastes (DOWNTIME), 5 Whys and Fishbone analysis, 5S, standard work, spaghetti diagrams, time observation and the Kaizen newspaper for tracking actions.

Does the course use real workplace examples?

Yes. The training combines conceptual explanation with real-world case examples and a hands-on Kaizen event simulation. In corporate sessions the scenarios can be based on your own processes, so the learning maps directly to your operations.

How does Kaizen relate to Lean and Six Sigma?

Kaizen is the engine of Lean transformation and is rooted in the Toyota Production System. It also supports Six Sigma, where Kaizen events are used in the Improve and Control phases of DMAIC, and complements Value Stream Mapping, 5S and Poka Yoke.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the Kaizen training?

You can enrol through Invensis Learning. Choose your preferred format and schedule, complete registration, and you receive access to session details and learning materials. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a format.

What delivery formats are available in Ivory Coast?

The training is available as live virtual (online) instructor-led training, in-person classroom sessions, and corporate onsite delivery for teams across Ivory Coast. Choose the format that best fits your schedule and location.

    How soon can I start?

Public sessions run on a regular schedule, and corporate sessions can be arranged around your team's availability. Contact us to see upcoming dates and secure a place, or to book a session for your organisation.

Can I train my whole team together?

Yes. Corporate group training lets you train a cross-functional team on a shared method and, ideally, on your own real processes. This builds a common improvement language and internal facilitators. Ask about a group booking.

    Can I reschedule my booking?

Yes. Rescheduling is available on selected plans, subject to our published policy. Reach out to our support team and they will help you move to a suitable session.
