Who should take PMI-ACP training?

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-ACP?

You need a secondary degree, 2,000 hours of general project experience within the last five years, 1,500 hours of agile project experience within the last three years, and 21 contact hours of agile training. PMP or PgMP holders already meet the general project experience requirement.

How long is the PMI-ACP valid and how do I renew it?

The PMI-ACP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To renew, you earn 30 professional development units (PDUs) in agile topics within each three-year cycle and report them through PMI's continuing certification requirements system.

How is the PMI-ACP different from the PMP?

The PMP is a broad project management credential covering predictive, agile and hybrid delivery, while the PMI-ACP is agile-specific and spans multiple agile frameworks in depth. Many professionals hold both, using the PMI-ACP to prove focused agile competence.

No. PMI bills the exam fee separately in USD. For reference, it is around USD 435 for PMI members and USD 495 for non-members, and prices may vary, so confirm current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership can reduce the exam cost.

What is the format of the PMI-ACP exam?

The PMI-ACP exam is closed book and multiple choice, based on the current PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline published in January 2018. Questions are distributed across seven agile domains and test your ability to apply agile tools in realistic scenarios.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of three hours. Questions are spread across the seven agile domains defined in the January 2018 exam content outline.

What is the passing score for the PMI-ACP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score and does not publish a fixed number. Results are reported with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all seven domains.

Where can I take the PMI-ACP exam?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through the Pearson VUE website or PMI's portal after your application is approved.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our exam-focused practice and mock tests are designed to help you prepare thoroughly for your first sitting.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest exam content?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline effective January 2018 and draws on the Agile Practice Guide and other recognised agile references on PMI's reference list.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The training includes practice questions aligned to the 120-question, three-hour closed-book format, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.
