Agile Challenges Driving PMI-ACP Demand in Canada

    Framework Sprawl Across Teams

Canadian enterprises run Scrum, Kanban, SAFe and hybrid models side by side, so employers need practitioners who can move fluently between frameworks, exactly what PMI-ACP validates.

    PMI-ACP builds cross-framework agile skill

    Bank Agile Transformation at Scale

RBC, TD, Scotiabank and BMO are scaling agile across thousands of staff, creating steady demand for credentialed agile leaders who can standardise delivery across squads.

PMI-ACP builds delivery and coaching skills

    Shortage of Experience-Backed Talent

Many hold a short framework badge, but few carry an experience-backed agile credential. PMI-ACP's eligibility bar makes qualified practitioners scarce and sought-after.

PMI-ACP makes qualified practitioners stand out

    Value Leakage in Digital Programmes

Boards fund digital transformation, yet weak value-driven delivery causes waste. PMI-ACP builds the prioritisation and MVP skills that protect return on investment.

    PMI-ACP builds value-driven delivery skills

    Distributed and Hybrid Teams

Remote and cross-province agile teams strain collaboration and stakeholder engagement, raising demand for practitioners trained to keep delivery flowing.

    Pressure to Prove Delivery ROI

Cost discipline in technology, telecom and BFSI pushes leaders to show outcomes, favouring agile professionals who connect iterative delivery to measurable value.

    Exam

How many questions are on the PMI-ACP exam?

The PMI-ACP exam has 120 questions and a three-hour time limit. It is closed book and uses multiple-choice questions, distributed across seven agile domains and delivered online proctored or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What is the PMI-ACP exam based on?

The exam is based on PMI's PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline (ECO), published in January 2018. The ECO defines seven agile domains, from Agile Principles and Mindset to Continuous Improvement, and draws on references including the Agile Practice Guide.

What is the passing score for the PMI-ACP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score and does not publish a fixed percentage. Results report performance by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all seven domains.

How many attempts do I get for the exam?

You get up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period that begins when PMI approves your application. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts.

What are the eligibility requirements for PMI-ACP?

You need a secondary degree, 2,000 hours of general project experience within the last 5 years, 1,500 hours of agile project experience within the last 3 years, and 21 contact hours of agile training. PMP or PgMP holders already meet the general project experience requirement.

Where can I take the PMI-ACP exam?

You can take the exam online via Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through the Pearson VUE website or PMI's portal within your eligibility window.

    Course Content

What will I learn in PMI-ACP training?

You will learn to apply agile tools and techniques across the seven PMI-ACP domains: agile principles and mindset, value-driven delivery, stakeholder engagement, team performance, adaptive planning, problem detection and resolution, and continuous improvement.

Do I need agile experience before enrolling?

Anyone can enrol in the training. However, to sit the PMI-ACP exam, PMI requires documented agile and general project experience plus 21 contact hours of agile training. Our trainers guide you on documenting your experience for the application.

Does the training meet the 21 contact hours requirement?

Yes. The programme delivers 24 contact hours of instructor-led agile training, which exceeds and fully satisfies PMI's 21 contact hours prerequisite for the PMI-ACP application.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions mapped to the exam format, full-length mock exams, quizzes, and downloadable references and templates covering all seven agile domains.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMI-ACP outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to PMI's PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline effective January 2018, which remains the current outline, and to recognised agile references such as the Agile Practice Guide.
