    General

What is the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification?

The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is an advanced process improvement credential from IASSC, now part of PeopleCert. It validates your ability to lead complex DMAIC projects using advanced statistics and Lean tools, and awards the Black Belt designation.

Is the Black Belt worth it for professionals in Nassau?

Yes. In Nassau, improvement-focused roles pay from around B$57,000 for quality managers to B$77,000 or more for senior continuous improvement consultants. Employers in tourism, banking and logistics value certified Black Belts who can cut cost and defects.

    Who should take this certification?

It suits quality and operations managers, continuous improvement specialists, Green Belt holders and consultants who want to lead larger, data-driven projects. It is ideal for professionals ready to move from supporting improvement work to leading it across an organisation.

Do I need prior experience or a Green Belt?

No. There are no prerequisites for the Black Belt exam: no degree, no work experience and no Green Belt required. Real-world project experience and training are recommended, but they are not mandatory.

How long is the certification valid?

The certification holds Current status for three years from the date you certify. To maintain it, you pass the recertification exam before your status elapses, keeping your credential active for a further three years.

What is the format of the Black Belt exam?

The exam is a closed-book test of 150 multiple-choice questions covering all five DMAIC phases. Some forms include up to 15 additional unscored questions. A reference document with the required formulas and tables is provided during the exam.

How long is the exam and how many questions are there?

What is the exam application process?

There are no eligibility requirements, so you can register directly. Purchase the exam voucher from the certifying body, choose online proctored delivery or a Pearson VUE test centre, then schedule and sit the four-hour exam. An optional non-proctored evaluation exam lets you check readiness first.
