    What is the format of the Black Belt exam?

    The exam is a closed-book test of 150 multiple-choice questions covering all five DMAIC phases. Some forms include up to 15 additional unscored questions. A reference document with the required formulas and tables is provided during the exam.

    How long is the exam and how many questions are there?

    You answer 150 scored multiple-choice questions in four hours (240 minutes). Non-native speakers or candidates with a disability may receive an additional 60 minutes.

    What is the passing score for the Black Belt exam?

    You need a minimum of 580 points out of 750 to pass. Aim for broad mastery across Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control, with the heaviest weighting on the Analyze phase.

    What is the exam application process?

    There are no eligibility requirements, so you can register directly. Purchase the exam voucher from the certifying body, choose online proctored delivery or a Pearson VUE test centre, then schedule and sit the four-hour exam. An optional non-proctored evaluation exam lets you check readiness first.

    How is the exam delivered in Nassau?

    You can take the exam online with 24/7 web-based proctoring, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Online delivery suits candidates in Nassau who prefer to test from home or the office.

    What happens if I do not pass the first time?

    The training covers all five DMAIC phases: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. You learn advanced statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, Design of Experiments, Lean tools and statistical process control, mapped to the IASSC Body of Knowledge.

    Can a beginner take this course?

    Yes. There are no prerequisites, and the programme builds from core Six Sigma concepts up to advanced statistics, so motivated newcomers can follow along. Prior Lean or Green Belt experience helps but is not required.

    How many training hours are included?

    The programme delivers around 40 hours of instructor-led training mapped to the Black Belt Body of Knowledge. The certifying body recommends about 120 hours of total preparation, which your practice materials and self-study support.

    You receive structured courseware, practice questions, full-length mock exams, downloadable templates and chapter-wise quizzes, plus post-training support to help you prepare for the exam with confidence.
