Why QFD Skills Are in Demand in Bulgaria

    Customer-Driven Design Gap

Many Bulgarian manufacturers still design from assumptions rather than evidence. QFD closes the gap between what customers actually need and what engineers build.

QFD closes the gap between needs and design

    Supplier Quality Expectations

As a leading European components hub, Bulgarian suppliers face strict OEM quality demands. QFD gives teams a structured way to trace requirements into specifications.

    QFD builds requirement traceability skills

    New OEM Investment

With carmakers such as Chery entering Bulgaria in 2026, local R&D and design capacity is expanding, raising demand for customer-focused design capability.

    QFD supports customer-focused design

    Rising Development Costs

Late design changes and rework inflate cost and time to market. QFD surfaces design conflicts and trade-offs early, before expensive prototyping begins.

Quality Function Deployment is a customer-driven methodology for translating the Voice of the Customer into specific engineering and design characteristics at every stage of product or service development. Its central tool is the House of Quality, a planning matrix that maps customer needs against how a design delivers them.

Quality Function Deployment is a customer-driven methodology for translating the Voice of the Customer into specific engineering and design characteristics at every stage of product or service development. Its central tool is the House of Quality, a planning matrix that maps customer needs against how a design delivers them.

Yes. Bulgaria is a leading European hub for automotive components, electronics and product engineering, and employers increasingly value professionals who can turn customer requirements into design specifications. QFD is a practical, transferable skill that strengthens product design, quality and R&D roles.

The course suits product designers, design and quality engineers, product managers, marketing and R&D professionals, and Six Sigma Green and Black Belt practitioners. Anyone who needs to translate customer requirements into product or service specifications will benefit.

No prior experience is required. The course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles. Familiarity with product development or quality management is helpful but not essential.

The House of Quality is the primary QFD matrix. It captures customer requirements, engineering characteristics, the relationship between them, a correlation roof for design conflicts, competitive benchmarking and engineering targets, giving teams a clear, prioritised design brief.

    General

What is Quality Function Deployment (QFD)?

Quality Function Deployment is a customer-driven methodology for translating the Voice of the Customer into specific engineering and design characteristics at every stage of product or service development. Its central tool is the House of Quality, a planning matrix that maps customer needs against how a design delivers them.

Is the QFD training worth it for my career in Bulgaria?

Yes. Bulgaria is a leading European hub for automotive components, electronics and product engineering, and employers increasingly value professionals who can turn customer requirements into design specifications. QFD is a practical, transferable skill that strengthens product design, quality and R&D roles.

Who should attend the QFD course?

The course suits product designers, design and quality engineers, product managers, marketing and R&D professionals, and Six Sigma Green and Black Belt practitioners. Anyone who needs to translate customer requirements into product or service specifications will benefit.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No prior experience is required. The course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles. Familiarity with product development or quality management is helpful but not essential.

What is the House of Quality?

The House of Quality is the primary QFD matrix. It captures customer requirements, engineering characteristics, the relationship between them, a correlation roof for design conflicts, competitive benchmarking and engineering targets, giving teams a clear, prioritised design brief.

    Pricing

How much does the QFD training cost in Bulgaria?

Pricing varies by delivery mode, group size and schedule, so course fees are available on request. Contact a learning advisor for current pricing and upcoming batches for Bulgaria.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across all six QFD modules, hands-on House of Quality exercises, learning materials and templates, and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Request a quote for the full inclusions.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams and departments. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Are fees charged in euros?

Bulgaria adopted the euro on 1 January 2026, so local training is quoted in euros. A learning advisor can confirm the current fee and any payment options when you request a quote.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the QFD course?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction, case study examples and team discussion during the one-day programme.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. There is no external credential or awarding body, as QFD training builds practical skills rather than preparing you for a certification exam.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. You build and interpret QFD matrices through guided exercises across the day, so you leave able to run a Voice of the Customer workshop and construct a House of Quality in practice.

    Is QFD a formal certification?

No. QFD is an established methodology, and this is practical skills training rather than a certification programme. The value is in the capability you gain, which you can apply immediately to product and service design.

Will this course help with my Six Sigma projects?

Yes. QFD is a core tool in Design for Six Sigma (the DMADV Measure phase) and in the DMAIC Define phase, where it translates the Voice of the Customer into CTQs. The course gives you the depth to apply it confidently in projects.

    Course Content

What topics does the QFD training cover?

The programme covers QFD principles and origins, capturing and structuring the Voice of the Customer, building and interpreting the House of Quality, cascading QFD through the four phases, and applying QFD in Design for Six Sigma, DMAIC and service design.

What will I be able to do after the course?

You will be able to capture and structure customer requirements, build a complete House of Quality, calculate importance rankings, resolve design conflicts using the roof, cascade QFD to parts and process planning, and apply QFD within Six Sigma projects.

How long is the QFD training?

The course runs for one day, totalling eight hours. It can also be delivered as two half-days of four hours each, covering all six modules with hands-on House of Quality exercises throughout.

Does the course cover services and software, or only manufacturing?

Both. While QFD originated in manufacturing, the course covers its use in services such as healthcare and financial services, and in software development, wherever customer requirements must be translated into design or delivery specifications.

    Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. You practise VOC structuring with affinity diagrams, Kano model classification, full House of Quality construction from a realistic scenario, column importance calculation, and identifying design hot spots and conflicts.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the QFD course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, learning materials and joining details. Contact a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

    What delivery formats are available?

The course is available as online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom training, and customised corporate onsite sessions, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and team.

Can the course be delivered onsite for my team in Bulgaria?

Yes. We deliver corporate onsite and live virtual QFD training for teams in Bulgaria, and your group can build a House of Quality for one of your own products during the session for immediate value. Request a group quote to arrange it.

Can I reschedule my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexible options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch on selected plans. Contact our support team to arrange the change that suits you.

    How soon can I start?

New online and classroom batches run regularly, and corporate sessions are scheduled around your team's availability. See upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor to find the next start date that works for you.
