    Is there an exam for this QFD course?

    No. This is a practical skills course with no exam and no formal credential. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction, case studies and team discussion, so you build and interpret real matrices during the day.

    What do I receive on completion?

    You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning that recognises you have completed the one-day QFD programme. More importantly, you leave able to run a Voice of the Customer workshop and build a full House of Quality straight away.

    How are my skills checked during the training?

    There is no formal test. Instead, you apply what you learn through hands-on exercises: structuring the Voice of the Customer, classifying needs with the Kano model, and constructing all six rooms of the House of Quality from a realistic scenario.

    Are there eligibility requirements to join?

    No. The course is open to all, with no formal education or work-experience requirement. It is suitable for product designers, engineers, quality professionals, product managers and Six Sigma practitioners at any stage.

    Course Content

    What topics does the QFD training cover?

    The course covers QFD principles and origins, capturing and structuring the Voice of the Customer, building and interpreting the House of Quality, cascading QFD through four phases, and applying QFD in Design for Six Sigma, DMAIC and service design.

    What is the House of Quality?

    The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix that links customer requirements to engineering characteristics. Its six rooms capture what customers want, how the design will deliver it, the strength of each relationship, design conflicts, benchmarking and engineering targets.

    How long is the QFD course?

    The course runs as a one-day, eight-hour programme covering all six QFD modules with hands-on House of Quality exercises throughout. It can also be delivered over two half-days. It is available in live virtual, classroom and corporate onsite formats.

    Does the course cover the Voice of the Customer and Kano model?

    Yes. You learn how to collect and structure the Voice of the Customer with affinity diagrams, and how to classify requirements using the Kano model into must-be, performance and delighter needs so design effort is targeted where it matters most.

    Does QFD apply to services and software, not just manufacturing?

    Yes. While QFD began in manufacturing, the course covers its use in healthcare, financial services, IT and software, where user requirements are translated into service standards, process parameters and test criteria. The method fits any customer-to-design challenge.
