    What is the format of the Black Belt exam?

    The Black Belt exam is a closed-book test of 150 multiple-choice questions based on the IASSC Lean Six Sigma Body of Knowledge. A reference document with the required formulas and tables is provided during the exam.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 150 scored multiple-choice questions, with some forms including up to 15 additional unscored questions. You have four hours (240 minutes) to complete it.

    What is the passing score for the Black Belt exam?

    You need a minimum of 580 points out of 750 to pass. Focus on broad mastery across all five DMAIC phases: Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control.

    How and where do I sit the exam?

    You can sit the exam online with 24/7 web-based proctoring, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Choose whichever option is most convenient for you.

    What is the exam application process?

    After preparing, purchase your exam voucher through the governing body, choose online proctored or test-centre delivery, then schedule your exam. You can take an optional non-proctored evaluation exam first to check readiness. Our team can guide you through the IASSC exam booking.

    What if I do not pass the first time?

    Course Content

    What topics are covered in the training?

    The programme covers all five DMAIC phases. You learn advanced statistics, measurement system analysis, hypothesis testing, regression, Design of Experiments, statistical process control and Lean tools such as 5S, Kanban and Poka-Yoke.

    Will I learn advanced statistics and Design of Experiments?

    Yes. Black Belt level goes well beyond Green Belt, covering hypothesis testing on normal and non-normal data, simple and multiple regression, and full and fractional factorial Design of Experiments.

    Can I take this without a Green Belt?

    Yes. There is no requirement to hold a Green Belt first. The training builds from core concepts to advanced tools, so motivated professionals can start at Black Belt level.

    What learning resources are provided?

    You receive DMAIC-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, templates and reference materials mapped to the Black Belt Body of Knowledge, plus trainer-led guidance throughout.

    Is the courseware aligned with the latest Body of Knowledge?
