What Is the PMI-ACP Certification?UntitledYour Route to Versatile Agile Delivery

The PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) is PMI's agile practitioner credential, and this certification training in Austria prepares you to earn it while proving versatile, cross-framework agile skills. Unlike single-method certifications, PMI-ACP spans Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Extreme Programming (XP) and test-driven development, so it reflects how modern teams actually deliver. The programme is built around the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline published in January 2018, covering seven agile domains from Agile Principles and Mindset through to Continuous Improvement. It also draws on PMI's Agile Practice Guide, and delivers 24 contact hours of instructor-led training that satisfy the 21 contact-hour PMI-ACP prerequisite in full. As banks, telecoms, manufacturers and the public sector across Austria scale agile delivery, employers increasingly want practitioners who can adapt across frameworks. Whether you are a Scrum Master, Product Owner or delivery lead, this is a clear path to a globally recognised agile credential. Start your PMI-ACP journey with Invensis Learning.

Why Agile Talent Is in Demand Across Austria

    Scaling Agile Beyond IT

Austrian banks, insurers and manufacturers are extending agile delivery beyond software, but many lack practitioners who can apply it across frameworks, the exact gap a certified agile professional fills.

    PMI-ACP builds cross-framework agile capability

    Digital Compliance Pressure

Tightening EU digital regulation forces firms to deliver change faster while staying compliant, raising demand for disciplined, value-focused agile delivery leaders.

    PMI-ACP builds value-driven delivery skills

    Fragmented Framework Knowledge

Teams often know one method such as Scrum but struggle across Kanban, Lean and XP. Fluency across multiple agile approaches is what Austrian employers now look for.

    PMI-ACP proves multi-framework fluency

    Certified Agile Talent Scarcity

Austria's shortage occupation lists show persistent IT demand, yet experience-backed agile credentials remain rare, making certified practitioners visible and sought-after.

    PMI-ACP makes practitioners stand out

    Industry 4.0 and Manufacturing

Automotive and industrial firms adopting connected products need iterative delivery, pulling agile roles into sectors that were traditionally plan-driven.

PMI-ACP brings agile into product delivery

    Fintech and Banking Transformation

Vienna's fintech and banking hub is scaling agile product teams for digital identity and cross-border services, hiring practitioners who connect delivery to value.

How to Get PMI-ACP Certified in AustriaStep-by-Step Certification Process

The path to Online PMI-ACP certification follows a streamlined exam-based process. After completing the required training and obtaining PMI approval, candidates proceed directly to the certification examination administered through Pearson VUE. Unlike some senior PMI credentials, PMI-ACP does not require a peer-panel review. Most candidates complete the journey from training to certification within 6–10 weeks, depending on preparation time and application processing.

    Step 1: Confirm PMI-ACP Eligibility

Verify you meet the PMI-ACP eligibility requirements: a secondary degree (high school diploma, associate's, or global equivalent); 2,000 hours (12 months) of general project experience within the last 5 years; at least 1,500 hours (8 months) of agile project experience within the last 3 years (in addition to the general project experience); and 21 contact hours in agile practices. The agile experience can be on the same projects as the general project experience.

Step 3: Register on the PMI Candidate Portal

Step 4: Submit the PMI-ACP Application to PMI

Submit your application via the PMI candidate portal: document your general and agile project experience and your agile-practices training, and pay the application/exam fee (~$435 PMI member or ~$495 non-member). PMI typically processes applications within 5-10 business days. No peer-panel review is required.

Step 5: Sit the 120-Question PMI-ACP Exam via Pearson VUE

Once approved, you receive a one-year exam eligibility window. Book your PMI-ACP exam through Pearson VUE , online proctored from your home or office in Austria, or at a Pearson VUE test centre. The exam is 120 multiple-choice scenario questions over 180 minutes, covering all seven agile practitioner domains.

Step 6: Earn the PMI-ACP Credential and Plan CCR Renewal

On passing, PMI issues your PMI-ACP digital badge and certificate. The credential is valid for three years; renew via PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) programme by earning 30 PDUs in agile-relevant content across the 3-year cycle.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) is PMI's agile credential, validating experience across multiple frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP and test-driven development. It suits Scrum Masters, Product Owners, agile coaches, project managers and delivery leads working in agile or hybrid environments.

    General

What is the PMI-ACP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) is PMI's agile credential, validating experience across multiple frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP and test-driven development. It suits Scrum Masters, Product Owners, agile coaches, project managers and delivery leads working in agile or hybrid environments.

Is the PMI-ACP worth it for professionals in Austria?

Yes. As banks, telecoms, manufacturers and the public sector across Austria scale agile delivery, employers value practitioners who can work across frameworks. Agile roles such as Scrum Master and Agile Coach command strong salaries, and PMI-ACP proves versatile, experience-backed capability.

Which agile frameworks does the PMI-ACP cover?

PMI-ACP spans Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Extreme Programming (XP), test-driven development, Crystal and Feature-Driven Development. This multi-framework scope distinguishes it from single-method credentials and reflects how Austrian teams actually deliver.

How is the PMI-ACP different from a Scrum-only certification?

PMI-ACP is framework-agnostic, covering many agile approaches rather than one. It also requires real agile and project experience, so it validates applied practice, not just knowledge of a single framework.

How long is the PMI-ACP valid and how do I renew it?

PMI-ACP is valid for three years. You maintain it by earning 30 professional development units (PDUs) in agile topics within each three-year cycle and reporting them through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system.

    Is the PMI-ACP recognised internationally?

Yes. PMI is recognised in over 200 countries, and PMI-ACP is respected by employers worldwide as a rigorous, experience-backed agile credential, making it portable across Austrian and international roles.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-ACP training cost in Austria?

PMI-ACP training fees in Austria vary by format and provider and are quoted on request. The fee covers instructor-led sessions, PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions and mock exams. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Request a quote for current pricing.

What is included in the PMI-ACP course fee?

The fee typically includes 24 contact hours of instructor-led agile training, PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, application guidance and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. Talk to a learning advisor for full details.

How much is the PMI-ACP exam fee?

The PMI-ACP exam fee is billed separately by PMI and varies by membership. For reference, members pay around USD 435 and non-members around USD 495. PMI membership (about USD 139 per year) can reduce the exam cost. Confirm current fees at pmi.org.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for teams across Austria. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the PMI-ACP exam first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Our training includes practice questions and mock exams aligned to the 120-question format to help you prepare for a first-time pass, and our team supports you throughout.

How many questions are on the PMI-ACP exam and how long is it?

The PMI-ACP exam has 120 multiple-choice questions and a three-hour time limit. It is closed book and covers seven agile domains defined in the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline.

What is the passing score for the PMI-ACP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The score is set psychometrically, and results are reported per domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all seven domains.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-ACP exam?

You need a secondary degree, 2,000 hours of general project experience in the last five years, 1,500 hours of agile project experience in the last three years, and 21 contact hours of agile training. PMP or PgMP holders already meet the general project experience requirement.

Where can I take the PMI-ACP exam?

You can take it online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, including centres in Austria. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website.

Which standard is the PMI-ACP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline published in January 2018, drawing on references including PMI's Agile Practice Guide. It covers seven agile domains across multiple frameworks.

    Course Content

Can a beginner take the PMI-ACP training?

You can attend the training to build agile knowledge and earn the 21 contact hours, but the PMI-ACP credential itself requires prior project and agile experience. The course best suits practitioners already working in agile or hybrid teams who want to formalise their skills.

What topics does the PMI-ACP training cover?

The training covers all seven ECO domains: Agile Principles and Mindset, Value-Driven Delivery, Stakeholder Engagement, Team Performance, Adaptive Planning, Problem Detection and Resolution, and Continuous Improvement, across Scrum, Kanban, Lean and XP.

How many contact hours does the training provide?

The programme delivers 24 contact hours of instructor-led agile training, which exceeds and fully satisfies the 21 contact hours PMI requires as a PMI-ACP prerequisite.

    What learning resources are included?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions mapped to the exam, full-length mock exams, templates and quizzes, plus references to the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline and the Agile Practice Guide.

Is the courseware aligned to the current PMI-ACP outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline (January 2018) and reflects the multiple agile frameworks the exam tests.

What training formats are available in Austria?

Do I apply to PMI before or after the training?

Complete the 24-hour training first to earn the required contact hours, then submit your PMI-ACP application documenting your project and agile experience. Our team can guide you through the application and exam booking.

Can I reschedule my enrolment to another batch?
