How is my learning assessed during the training?

Learning is assessed informally through practical activities rather than a formal exam. You work through exercises such as kanban quantity calculation, kanban loop design, Kanban board design, WIP-limit setting and Cumulative Flow Diagram interpretation, applying each concept as you learn it.

Is this an accredited Kanban certification?

No. Kanban training is a vendor-neutral skills course grounded in the Lean and Agile traditions, from the Toyota Production System to knowledge-work Kanban. It has no single governing body or accreditation; the value is the practical capability you gain, not a credential.

What will I be able to do after the training?

You will be able to explain push versus pull, design manufacturing kanban loops and supermarkets, calculate kanban quantities, build Kanban boards with WIP limits and classes of service, apply Scrumban, measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, and read a Cumulative Flow Diagram.

What topics does the Kanban course cover?

The course covers six modules: Kanban origins and pull production, manufacturing Kanban types and mechanics, kanban system sizing and implementation, knowledge-work Kanban boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and the Cumulative Flow Diagram, and implementing and sustaining Kanban.

Does it cover both manufacturing Kanban and Agile Kanban?

Yes. You learn manufacturing Kanban (production and withdrawal kanban, supermarkets, two-bin systems, e-Kanban and sizing) and Agile Kanban (boards, WIP limits, flow metrics, the Cumulative Flow Diagram and Scrumban), so the training fits both factory and knowledge-work settings.

Are there hands-on exercises in the course?

Yes. Practical exercises run throughout the day, including a push-versus-pull activity, kanban quantity calculation, kanban loop design for a manufacturing scenario, Kanban board design for a software or IT scenario, WIP-limit setting and a Cumulative Flow Diagram interpretation exercise.

How long is the Kanban training?

The programme runs for one day, totalling eight hours. It can be delivered as a single full day or as two extended half-days, covering all six modules with concept explanations, real-world examples and hands-on exercises.
