    The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist certification in project risk management, for professionals who identify, assess, respond to and monitor risk on projects and programmes. It suits risk analysts, project managers, PMO specialists and risk consultants who want to prove specialist expertise.

    Is the PMI-RMP worth it for professionals in Angola?

    Yes. With a USD 60-70bn oil pipeline, four refinery builds and the Lobito Corridor, Angolan employers in energy, banking and infrastructure increasingly need certified risk specialists. Certified risk talent is scarce here, so the credential can lift both your role and your earning power.

    Is PMP required before the PMI-RMP?

    No. PMP certification is not a prerequisite. You can apply for the PMI-RMP directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many holders do also hold PMP, as the two credentials complement each other well.

    How long is the PMI-RMP valid and how is it renewed?

    The PMI-RMP is valid for three years. To renew, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements system. This is fewer than the 60 PDUs required for PMP.

    How much does the PMI-RMP exam cost?

    For reference, PMI charges around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members; verify current fees at pmi.org, as they vary by region. PMI membership, about USD 139 per year, lowers the exam fee and gives free access to the Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

    Is the exam fee included in the course price?

    What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

    The PMI-RMP exam is closed book with 115 multiple-choice questions, in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 115 questions and you have 2.5 hours, that is 150 minutes, to complete it. Questions are distributed across the five risk management domains defined in the current Examination Content Outline.

    What are the five PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

    Per the current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, the five domains are Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

    What is the passing score and where do I sit the exam?

    PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing standard rather than a fixed percentage, with domain-level feedback. You can take the exam online via Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

    PMI permits up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams and scenario practice are designed to prepare you for a confident first attempt.

    What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

    The training covers all five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks. It spans predictive, agile and hybrid environments, with tools from SWOT and the Delphi technique to Monte Carlo simulation and expected monetary value.

    Do I need prior experience to take this course?

    You can enrol without meeting the PMI eligibility bar, and the programme is structured to build understanding step by step. To sit the exam, PMI requires documented project risk management experience and education, which we help you plan and document.

    Does this training meet the PMI education requirement?

    The 32 contact hours fully satisfy the 30-hour risk education requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree) candidates. Set A candidates (secondary diploma) need 40 hours and should add at least eight further hours of risk education.
