The Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) is PMI's advanced credential for professionals who manage portfolios of programmes and projects aligned to organisational strategy. It is designed for portfolio managers, PMO heads, directors of delivery and senior practitioners with substantial portfolio experience.

Who is the governing body for the PfMP?

The PfMP is governed by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The exam is based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and PMI's Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition, and is recognised across more than 200 countries.

Is the PfMP recognised in Angola?

Yes. The PfMP is a globally recognised PMI credential valued by employers across Angola and worldwide, including oil and gas operators, banks, telecoms and construction firms that run large, strategy-critical portfolios.

How long is the PfMP certification valid?

The PfMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 professional development units (PDUs) across the PMI Talent Triangle within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

How much does PfMP training cost in Angola?

PfMP training fees vary by format, whether live online, classroom or corporate group training, and are available on request for the Angolan market. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote for current pricing.

What is included in the PfMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, downloadable templates, application and panel-review support, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours.

How much is the PfMP exam fee?

PMI bills the PfMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing. For reference, the non-member fee is around USD 1,000 and the member fee around USD 800; PMI membership is roughly USD 139 per year. Confirm the current amounts on the PMI store before applying.

What is the format of the PfMP exam?

The PfMP exam is a closed-book, computer-based, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, 4th Edition. It uses scenario-based questions across five performance domains and is delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or a test centre.

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. PMI reports results with domain-level performance feedback rather than a fixed percentage score.

What are the PfMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%). Together they cover the full scope of portfolio management PMI tests.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. Both the panel review and the written exam must be passed to earn the credential.

What happens if I do not pass the exam?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our trainers and practice resources are designed to help you build broad mastery across all five domains and pass with confidence.

What will I learn in the PfMP training?

You will learn to align portfolios to strategy, govern at scale, optimise portfolio performance and value, manage portfolio risk and lead executive communications. The programme covers all five PfMP performance domains plus application and panel-review preparation.

Do I need prior experience to benefit from the training?

Anyone can attend the training, though the PfMP itself is a senior credential. The programme suits experienced professionals moving from programme to portfolio roles, and helps you map your experience to PMI's eligibility requirements before you apply.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PfMP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PfMP Examination Content Outline, so you study exactly what the exam evaluates.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes so you can identify weak areas and build readiness across all five domains.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme, which support your PfMP journey.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PfMP?

PMI offers three eligibility paths: Set A (secondary diploma, 96 months business experience and 84 months portfolio experience), Set B (bachelor's degree, 96 months business and 48 months portfolio experience) and Set C (a GAC-accredited degree with 36 months portfolio experience). All experience must fall within the past 15 years.
