    What is the format of the Foundation exam?

    The Foundation exam has 50 multiple-choice questions, lasts 40 minutes and is closed book. The pass mark is 50%, which is 25 out of 50 correct. It is typically taken at the end of the Foundation part of the training.

    What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

    The Practitioner exam has 5 scenario-based sections, each worth 16 marks, for 80 marks in total. It lasts 2.5 hours and is open book, with the Change Management Practitioner Guide permitted. The pass mark is 50%, which is 40 out of 80 marks.

    How many exams are there and how are they delivered?

    There are two separate exams, Foundation and Practitioner, and you must pass both to hold both credentials. Exams are delivered by online proctoring or at an authorised test centre, usually at the end of each part of the training.

    What are the prerequisites for the exams?

    Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. To sit the Practitioner exam you must hold the Change Management Foundation certification, or an accepted equivalent. The combined programme is designed to be taken sequentially, Foundation first.

    What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

    It means the Change Management Practitioner Guide is permitted during the exam. However, the scenario-based sections require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient guide navigation and deep understanding of the models are both essential.

    What if I do not pass an exam the first time?

    You can resit the exam that you did not pass. The programme includes mock exams, practice questions and technique coaching to prepare you for a first-time pass. Ask your learning advisor about resit support and any retake options in your plan.
