Why Uzbekistan's Product Teams Need QFD Now

    Fast Growth Outpacing Quality Systems

Industrial output rose around 8% in early 2026 as new plants come online, but many teams still lack a structured way to design quality in, the exact gap QFD is built to close.

    QFD builds customer-driven design discipline

    Localising Without Losing the Customer

As appliances, electronics and vehicles are localised, teams risk designing to cost rather than to customer needs. QFD keeps every specification traceable to what customers value.

QFD keeps design anchored to real needs

    Meeting Export-Quality Expectations

To sell into export markets, Uzbek products must meet demanding customer and regulatory requirements. QFD turns those requirements into measurable engineering targets and controls.

    QFD translates requirements into targets

    Automotive Supply Chain Complexity

With UzAuto, BYD and Asaka scaling output, Tier suppliers must demonstrate that designs meet customer requirements. QFD provides the traceability APQP and quality audits expect.

    QFD supports APQP requirement traceability

Costly Design Rework and Late Changes

Late-stage design changes drain time and budget. By surfacing conflicts and trade-offs early through the House of Quality, QFD helps teams get products right the first time.

    QFD reduces iterations and rework

    Scarce Customer-Driven Design Skills

Few professionals in the region are trained to translate the Voice of the Customer into design specifications, so those who can apply QFD well are valuable and hard to replace.

QFD makes trained professionals stand out

QFD is a structured, customer-driven method for translating the Voice of the Customer into specific technical and engineering characteristics at every stage of product and service development. Its core tool is the House of Quality, a planning matrix that links what customers want to how a product is designed.

Yes. As automotive, electronics, textile and pharmaceutical firms scale new products and target export markets, employers increasingly value people who can design quality in from the start. QFD skills apply directly to quality, design, R&D and product roles across these growing sectors.

The programme suits product designers and design engineers, quality engineers, product managers, marketing and R&D professionals, and Six Sigma practitioners. Anyone who needs to translate customer requirements into product or service specifications will benefit.

QFD was developed in Japan by Yoji Akao and Shigeru Mizuno and first applied at Mitsubishi's Kobe Shipyard in 1972. It spread to automotive and manufacturing worldwide and is now used in electronics, healthcare, software and service design.

No. While QFD began in manufacturing, the House of Quality method works anywhere customer needs must become design or delivery specifications. The course covers applications in services, healthcare, financial services and software as well as physical products.

    General

What is Quality Function Deployment (QFD)?

QFD is a structured, customer-driven method for translating the Voice of the Customer into specific technical and engineering characteristics at every stage of product and service development. Its core tool is the House of Quality, a planning matrix that links what customers want to how a product is designed.

Is QFD training worth it for professionals in Uzbekistan?

Yes. As automotive, electronics, textile and pharmaceutical firms scale new products and target export markets, employers increasingly value people who can design quality in from the start. QFD skills apply directly to quality, design, R&D and product roles across these growing sectors.

Who should attend the QFD training?

The programme suits product designers and design engineers, quality engineers, product managers, marketing and R&D professionals, and Six Sigma practitioners. Anyone who needs to translate customer requirements into product or service specifications will benefit.

Where did the QFD methodology come from?

QFD was developed in Japan by Yoji Akao and Shigeru Mizuno and first applied at Mitsubishi's Kobe Shipyard in 1972. It spread to automotive and manufacturing worldwide and is now used in electronics, healthcare, software and service design.

    Is QFD only for manufacturing?

No. While QFD began in manufacturing, the House of Quality method works anywhere customer needs must become design or delivery specifications. The course covers applications in services, healthcare, financial services and software as well as physical products.

    Pricing

How much does the QFD training cost in Uzbekistan?

Pricing varies by delivery mode (live online, classroom or corporate) and group size, so fees are available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a current quote tailored to individual or team training in Uzbekistan.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training across all six QFD modules, hands-on House of Quality exercises, learning materials and templates, learner support, and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Ask us for the full inclusions for your chosen format.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer group and corporate rates with customised schedules for product, design and quality teams. Volume-based pricing is available for onsite and live virtual delivery. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote.

Is the training available online for learners in Uzbekistan?

Yes. The course is available as online (live virtual) instructor-led training, as well as in-person classroom and onsite corporate formats. You can join live sessions from anywhere in Uzbekistan. Talk to an advisor to see upcoming batches.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you or your organisation.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the QFD training?

No. This is a practical skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction exercises, case study examples and team discussion during the programme rather than a formal test.

How is my learning assessed during the training?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply each concept through guided exercises: structuring the Voice of the Customer, classifying needs with the Kano model, and building and interpreting a complete House of Quality during the session.

What do I receive after completing the training?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. More importantly, you leave able to facilitate a House of Quality workshop and cascade QFD through parts, process and production planning on your own projects.

How long is the QFD training?

The programme is delivered in one intensive day of about eight hours, covering QFD foundations, the Voice of the Customer, House of Quality construction and interpretation, the four-phase cascade, and QFD in Six Sigma and service contexts, with hands-on exercises throughout.

Which QFD framework does the training follow?

It follows the widely used four-phase QFD model, product planning, parts deployment, process planning and production planning, built around the House of Quality matrix. This is the standard QFD approach used across automotive, electronics and other industries.

    Course Content

What topics does the QFD training cover?

The course covers QFD principles and origins, capturing and structuring the Voice of the Customer, building the six rooms of the House of Quality, interpreting the matrix to set design targets, cascading QFD through four phases, and applying QFD in Design for Six Sigma, DMAIC and services.

What is the House of Quality?

The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix. It links customer requirements to engineering characteristics, rates the strength of each relationship, maps conflicts in the correlation roof, benchmarks competitors, and sets measurable engineering targets anchored to customer priorities.

Does the course cover the Voice of the Customer and the Kano model?

Yes. You learn how to collect customer needs, organise them with affinity diagrams into a requirement hierarchy, and classify them using the Kano model as must-be, performance or delighter needs so design effort targets what matters most to customers.

Do I need prior quality or product-development experience?

No prior experience is required. The course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles. Familiarity with product development or quality management is helpful but not necessary, making it suitable for beginners and experienced professionals alike.

    Are the sessions hands-on?

Yes. Hands-on House of Quality exercises run throughout the day, using realistic product and service scenarios. In corporate sessions your team can build a House of Quality for one of your own products, creating immediate workplace value.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the QFD training in Uzbekistan?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete your booking, and you will receive access to the schedule, joining details and learning resources. Contact a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

    What training formats are available?

We offer online (live virtual) instructor-led training, in-person classroom sessions and customised onsite corporate training. Choose the format that best fits your schedule and whether you are training as an individual or a team.

Can my whole team be trained together?

Yes. QFD works best with cross-functional teams, so corporate training lets designers, engineers, quality, marketing and production staff learn together. We deliver onsite, live virtual or hybrid sessions on a schedule that suits your organisation. Ask about corporate training.

    Can I reschedule my booking?

Yes. Flexible options let you reschedule to another batch where available. Contact our support team to arrange a new date that works for you.

    How soon can I start?

New live virtual and classroom sessions run regularly, and corporate sessions can be scheduled around your team's availability. See upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor to find the earliest suitable date.
