Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Design for Six Sigma training is a practical, one-day skills programme that teaches you how to design new products, services and processes to reach Six Sigma quality levels from the outset. It covers the DMADV roadmap and tools such as VOC, QFD, the Pugh matrix, Design FMEA and robust design.

The programme suits design engineers, systems engineers, R&D professionals, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers and Six Sigma practitioners. It is ideal for anyone in Uzbekistan's automotive, textile, electronics or process industries who designs or improves new products and processes.

DMAIC improves existing processes that are underperforming, while DFSS designs new products, services and processes to meet requirements from the start using the DMADV roadmap. This course covers DFSS, and organisations typically use both approaches together.

Yes. DFSS equips you to prevent defects at the design stage, where they are cheapest to avoid, rather than fixing them after launch. As Uzbek manufacturers move to finished goods and export markets, engineers with structured design-for-quality skills are increasingly in demand.

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with basic Six Sigma ideas such as CTQ and variation is helpful, but the course introduces all DFSS-specific tools and the DMADV methodology from first principles.

    General

What is Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training?

Design for Six Sigma training is a practical, one-day skills programme that teaches you how to design new products, services and processes to reach Six Sigma quality levels from the outset. It covers the DMADV roadmap and tools such as VOC, QFD, the Pugh matrix, Design FMEA and robust design.

Who should attend DFSS training in Uzbekistan?

The programme suits design engineers, systems engineers, R&D professionals, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers and Six Sigma practitioners. It is ideal for anyone in Uzbekistan's automotive, textile, electronics or process industries who designs or improves new products and processes.

What is the difference between DFSS and DMAIC?

DMAIC improves existing processes that are underperforming, while DFSS designs new products, services and processes to meet requirements from the start using the DMADV roadmap. This course covers DFSS, and organisations typically use both approaches together.

Is Design for Six Sigma training worth it?

Yes. DFSS equips you to prevent defects at the design stage, where they are cheapest to avoid, rather than fixing them after launch. As Uzbek manufacturers move to finished goods and export markets, engineers with structured design-for-quality skills are increasingly in demand.

Do I need prior Six Sigma knowledge to attend?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with basic Six Sigma ideas such as CTQ and variation is helpful, but the course introduces all DFSS-specific tools and the DMADV methodology from first principles.

    Pricing

How much does DFSS training cost in Uzbekistan?

Pricing depends on the delivery format (live online, classroom or onsite) and group size, so a tailored quote is best. Contact a learning advisor for current fees and available schedules in Uzbekistan.

What is included in the DFSS course fee?

The fee includes instructor-led training across all six DFSS modules, hands-on tool exercises, structured courseware and learner support, plus a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Request a quote for the full inclusions.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer group and corporate rates with customised schedules for teams and departments. It is a cost-effective way to train engineers together on your own products. Ask about corporate or group pricing for your team.

    Are there flexible payment options?

Flexible payment options are available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you and to confirm current fees for training in Uzbekistan.

Is the training cheaper for teams than individual enrolments?

Group and corporate delivery is usually more cost-effective per learner than individual enrolments, and it lets your team apply DFSS tools to shared, live design projects. Contact us for a group quote.

    Assessment

Is there an examination for DFSS training?

No. This is a non-examination skills course. Learning is reinforced through hands-on DFSS tool exercises, case examples and team discussion during the one-day programme, so you build capability you can apply straight away.

What will I receive after completing the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. The programme builds practical DFSS methodology and tool skills that are immediately applicable to new product and process design projects.

How is learning assessed during the course?

Rather than a formal test, learning is reinforced through practical exercises on realistic design scenarios, including VOC to CTQ flow-down, building a QFD House of Quality, a Pugh matrix and a Design FMEA worksheet.

Does this course award a formal qualification?

No formal qualification is awarded by an external body, as DFSS is a vendor-neutral skills course with no single governing body. You gain practical, transferable design-for-quality capability and a completion record from Invensis Learning.

Will I be able to apply DFSS at work straight after the course?

Yes. The programme is built around tools you can use immediately, so you can facilitate VOC workshops, build QFD matrices, run a Design FMEA and structure design verification on your own live projects the next day.

    Course Content

What topics does the DFSS training cover?

The training covers six modules: an introduction to DFSS and DMADV, the Define phase (VOC and Kano), the Measure phase (CTQ flow-down and QFD), the Analyse phase (concept selection and Design FMEA), the Design phase (robust design and DFMA), and the Verify phase (verification, validation and design transfer).

Which tools will I learn to use?

You learn Voice of the Customer capture, the Kano model, CTQ flow-down, Quality Function Deployment (the House of Quality), the Pugh concept selection matrix, Design FMEA with RPN, the P-diagram and robust design, tolerancing and design verification.

How long is the Design for Six Sigma training?

The programme runs for one day (8 hours), covering all six DMADV phases with concept explanations, real-world design examples and hands-on tool exercises throughout. A half-day over two days format is also possible.

Is the training hands-on or theory-based?

It is highly hands-on. Every phase includes practical exercises on realistic product and process design scenarios, so you practise the tools rather than only learning the concepts.

    What is the DMADV roadmap?

DMADV stands for Define, Measure, Analyse, Design and Verify. It is the most widely used DFSS roadmap for designing new products and processes to Six Sigma quality levels, from capturing customer requirements to verifying the design before launch.
