What Is Driving PgMP Demand in Taiwan?

    Semiconductor Capex at Scale

Chipmakers are pushing 1.6nm and AI-driven capacity, running many concurrent, interdependent projects that need programme-grade governance and benefits management, the exact gap the PgMP is built to close.

PgMP builds strategic alignment and governance skills

    AI System Architecture Shift

With AI revenue projected to grow at roughly 50% CAGR through 2028, Taiwan's tech leaders must coordinate related projects across hardware, software and platforms to realise strategic benefits.

PgMP builds benefits and coordination skills

    Global Fab Expansion Coordination

New fabs across the US, Japan and Europe turn single projects into multi-region programmes, demanding portfolio-grade prioritisation, risk aggregation and cross-team coordination at scale.

PgMP builds programme risk and oversight skills

    Strategy-Execution Gap

Boards approve transformation and capex programmes, but weak links between strategy and the funded project mix cause value leakage that certified programme leaders are now hired to fix.

PgMP builds prioritisation and value-realisation skills

    Programme Talent Scarcity

Taiwan has a deep pool of PMP project managers but few credentialed programme managers. The PgMP's advanced eligibility and panel review make holders rare and highly sought-after.

PgMP makes certified programme leaders stand out

    Financial-Services Modernisation

Banks and insurers are running core-system and digital-transformation programmes under tight regulation, needing senior leaders who can govern benefits, risk and stakeholders across workstreams.

PgMP builds governance and stakeholder skills

    Exam

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. Questions are distributed across five performance domains and delivered online proctored or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of 4 hours. It uses single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice formats across the five programme management performance domains.

What are the five PgMP exam domains and their weights?

The five domains are Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), as set out in the PgMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is a mandatory step alongside the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What happens if I do not pass the PgMP exam?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our exam prep, mock tests and simulator are designed to help you pass with confidence; confirm current fees on pmi.org.

    Course Content

What topics does the PgMP training cover?

The training covers all five performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus PgMP application guidance, panel-review preparation and exam strategy, aligned to The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition.

Do I need prior experience to take this training?

Anyone can attend the training, but the PgMP exam has substantial prerequisites. You will need a secondary or bachelor's degree plus several years of both project and programme management experience within the past 15 years. An active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement.

Are practice tests, mock exams and materials included?

Yes. The programme includes 1000+ practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes, along with PMI-aligned courseware and templates to help you find weak areas and build readiness.

Is the courseware aligned with the current PgMP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition (PMI, 2017), the primary reference standard for the exam.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme, which also count toward your professional development.

    Enrollment

What are the eligibility requirements to earn the PgMP?

PMI offers three eligibility sets. With a secondary degree you need 48 months of project management experience (or an active PMP) plus 84 months of programme management experience; with a bachelor's degree the programme requirement drops to 48 months, all within the past 15 years.
