    What is COBIT 5 Assessor?

COBIT 5 Assessor (COBIT 5-A) is the top-level certification in the COBIT 5 qualification scheme. It validates your ability to plan, conduct, rate and report formal process capability assessments using the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model (PAM), which is aligned to the ISO/IEC 15504 standard.

Who should take the COBIT 5 Assessor certification?

It suits IT auditors, IT governance and assurance professionals, GRC and compliance specialists, and governance consultants who need to conduct evidence-based capability assessments. It is also for lead assessors who manage assessment teams and quality.

What are the prerequisites for COBIT 5 Assessor?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required before you can sit the Assessor exam. COBIT 5 Implementation is recommended, and the Assessor course assumes both Foundation and Implementation knowledge. No formal work experience is mandated, though assessment experience helps.

Is COBIT 5 Assessor recognised internationally?

Yes. COBIT is a globally recognised IT governance framework, and the Assessor credential is the highest level of the COBIT 5 scheme. The exam is delivered by PeopleCert, which operates in over 200 countries, so the qualification is recognised by employers worldwide.

    Pricing

What is included in the COBIT 5 Assessor course fee?

The training fee typically includes syllabus-aligned courseware, instructor-led sessions, practice questions, mock exams, case studies and learner support. Confirm whether a PeopleCert exam voucher is bundled when you enrol. Request a quote to see current inclusions.

How much does COBIT 5 Assessor training cost in Trinidad and Tobago?

Training pricing depends on the format and whether an exam voucher is included, and is available on request. The PeopleCert exam fee is billed separately under regional pricing. Contact a learning advisor for a tailored quote in your preferred format.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

Not always. PeopleCert bills the COBIT 5 Assessor exam fee separately, and some training packages bundle a voucher while others do not. Confirm exam inclusion before you enrol, and ask us for a quote that spells out what is covered.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for internal audit, GRC and IT governance teams. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

The exam has eight questions, each worth 10 marks, for a total of 80 marks. It runs for two and a half hours (150 minutes) and is open book, with the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide and the COBIT Process Assessment Model the only permitted materials.

What is the passing score for the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

You need 50% to pass, which is 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Questions require applied analysis and professional judgement in realistic assessment scenarios, so mastery of the PAM matters more than memorisation.

Which materials are permitted in the open-book exam?

Only two references are permitted: the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model. No other materials are allowed, so efficient navigation of both documents is an important exam skill the training builds.

How is the COBIT 5 Assessor exam delivered?

The exam is delivered through PeopleCert, either online with OnVUE remote proctoring, available around the clock, or at an authorised test centre. You can sit it from home or office in Trinidad and Tobago with a stable connection.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the exam. Our training includes mock exams and first-attempt guidance to prepare you thoroughly, and reduce the chance of a re-sit. Confirm the current re-sit policy and any fees on the PeopleCert portal before you book.

    Course Content

Do I need prior COBIT knowledge to take this course?

Yes. The Assessor course assumes COBIT 5 Foundation knowledge, such as the five principles, seven enablers and the process reference model, and it builds on the Implementation approach. Foundation is a required prerequisite and is not retaught in the Assessor training.

What topics does the COBIT 5 Assessor training cover?

The programme covers five topic areas: an overview of COBIT 5 process assessment, the COBIT 5 PAM, capability levels and attributes, assessment planning and execution, and evidence, rating and reporting, all at application and analysis level.

What is the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model (PAM)?

The PAM is the ISO/IEC 15504-aligned model used to assess COBIT 5 process capability. It has two dimensions: the process dimension covering the 37 COBIT 5 processes, and the capability dimension of six levels from 0 (Incomplete) to 5 (Optimising).

What are the six COBIT 5 capability levels?

They are Level 0 Incomplete, Level 1 Performed, Level 2 Managed, Level 3 Established, Level 4 Predictable and Level 5 Optimising. Each is assessed through process attributes and a four-point scale: Not Achieved, Partially Achieved, Largely Achieved and Fully Achieved.

Are mock exams and practice materials provided?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, mock exams, case studies and syllabus-aligned courseware to help you identify weak areas and build readiness for the open-book exam.
