Is there an exam for the QFD training?

No. Quality Function Deployment training is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction exercises, case studies and team discussion during the programme.

What will I receive after completing the course?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. There is no external credential or awarding body; the value is in the practical QFD and House of Quality skills you can apply straight away.

How is learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you build and interpret QFD matrices through practical exercises, so you leave able to run VOC workshops and construct a House of Quality with confidence.

Do I need a Six Sigma background first?

No. QFD is taught from first principles. That said, it complements Design for Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma work, where QFD is used to translate the Voice of the Customer into critical-to-quality requirements.

How long is the QFD training?

The course runs for one day, around 8 hours, and can also be delivered as two half-day sessions. It covers QFD foundations, the Voice of the Customer, the full House of Quality, four-phase cascading and QFD in Six Sigma and services.

What is the House of Quality?

The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix. It links customer requirements to measurable engineering characteristics, rates the strength of each relationship, benchmarks against competitors, and sets design targets, all anchored to customer priorities.

Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. You build a complete House of Quality from a realistic product or service scenario, classify requirements with the Kano model, calculate column importance and identify design conflicts, so the learning stays practical throughout.

What are the four phases of QFD?

QFD cascades through four phases: product planning (the House of Quality), parts deployment, process planning and production planning. This keeps a traceable link from every customer requirement through to production controls.

What materials are provided?

You receive structured courseware, House of Quality templates and worked examples covering VOC capture, the Kano model, the relationship and correlation matrices, and QFD cascading, all usable in your own projects.
