Career Scope for COBIT 5 Professionals in SloveniaRoles, Sectors and Pay

IT governance skills are increasingly valued across Slovenia as banking, telecom, energy and public-sector employers respond to NIS2 and DORA obligations that demand clear accountability and mature governance. Professionals who can lead a COBIT 5 based improvement programme are in short supply relative to the country's deep pool of project-level IT talent, so demand sits at the governance manager, consultant and IT leadership end. Why IT Governance Skills Are in Demand Across Slovenia

    NIS2 and ZInfV-1 Compliance Pressure

Slovenia's ZInfV-1 brings thousands of organisations into NIS2 scope, with organisational controls due by October 2026. Employers need people who can raise governance maturity with a structured method.

COBIT 5 Implementation builds governance improvement skills

    DORA in Banking and Insurance

DORA has entered its first supervisory enforcement cycle, so Slovenian banks and insurers must prove clear decision rights and oversight, exactly the governance discipline the implementation lifecycle instils.

COBIT 5 Implementation builds governance and accountability skills

    Strategy-Execution Gap

Boards fund digital transformation but often cannot connect IT investment to strategy. The COBIT 5 goals cascade and roadmap approach close that gap and are in demand across sectors.

COBIT 5 Implementation links IT to enterprise strategy

    Governance Talent Scarcity

Slovenia has a deep pool of project-level IT staff but few credentialed governance practitioners. The intermediate COBIT 5 level and its prerequisite make holders rare and sought-after.

COBIT 5 Implementation makes certified leaders stand out

    Adoption, Not Just Design

Governance frameworks fail through poor adoption, not poor design. The change enablement cycle teaches teams how to make new governance ways of working stick.

COBIT 5 Implementation builds change enablement skills

    Public-Sector IT Modernisation

EU digital and recovery funding is accelerating public-sector IT transformation in Slovenia, creating a need for programme-grade governance, prioritisation and benefits realisation.

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

It is an open-book, objective-testing exam of 4 questions, each worth 20 marks, for 80 marks in total, taken over 2 and a half hours (150 minutes). Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted.

What is the passing score for the exam?

The pass mark is 50 percent, so you need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. The four questions each carry equal weight across the syllabus topic areas.

How is the exam delivered in Slovenia?

The exam is delivered by PeopleCert either through OnVUE online proctoring, available around the clock, or at PeopleCert authorised test centres. You can sit it from home or office in Slovenia with a stable internet connection.

What if I do not pass the first time?

You can re-sit the exam; PeopleCert re-sit policy and any fees apply, so confirm current terms at booking. Our programme includes mock exams and first-attempt guidance to help you pass with confidence.

What topic areas does the exam cover?

Four topic areas: the need for a governance framework and the COBIT 5 implementation lifecycle; change enablement; programme management; and continuous improvement. Each is examined by one 20-mark question.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the COBIT 5 Implementation course?

You learn to apply the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, build the governance business case, run change enablement, manage the improvement programme, and embed continuous improvement, plus open-book exam technique.

What are the seven phases of the implementation lifecycle?

Phase 1 what are the drivers, Phase 2 where are we now, Phase 3 where do we want to be, Phase 4 what needs to be done, Phase 5 how do we get there, Phase 6 did we get there, and Phase 7 how do we keep the momentum going. It runs as a continuous improvement cycle.

Do I need prior experience to follow the course?

You need COBIT 5 Foundation as a prerequisite, since Foundation concepts are assumed. Beyond that, the course is designed for practitioners who lead or support governance improvement, and trainers support you throughout with practical examples.

    How long is the training?

The programme runs for 16 hours, delivered as two full days or four half-days depending on the schedule. It covers all four topic areas at application level and prepares you for the open-book exam.

What materials and practice are provided?

You receive COBIT 5 aligned courseware, industry case studies on the implementation lifecycle and change enablement, mock exams and practice questions mapped to the open-book exam format.
