Assessment

How is learning reinforced during the course?

Learning is reinforced through hands-on Azure DevOps exercises throughout the day. You follow along in the Azure portal and CLI while the trainer demonstrates each service, building a working pipeline, infrastructure code and monitoring as you go.

Do I get anything to show I completed the training?

Yes. On completing the programme you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This is a skills training course, so there is no external credential or awarding body involved.

Is any test or prior assessment required to join?

No. There is no entry test and no formal prerequisites. The course is open to all developers, engineers and operations professionals, and it introduces every concept from a practitioner perspective.

Will I get hands-on practice rather than only theory?

Yes. The programme is built around live Azure exercises. You practise creating repositories with branch policies, writing YAML pipelines, deploying to App Service or AKS, provisioning with Bicep, and setting up Azure Monitor and Key Vault-linked variable groups.

Do I need my own Azure account for the exercises?

You should have access to an Azure subscription and an Azure DevOps organisation, with a free tier available at dev.azure.com for up to 5 users. Please confirm with us whether a shared training environment is provided for your session.

Course Content

What topics does the Azure DevOps course cover?

The course covers DevOps principles and the Azure ecosystem, source control with Azure Repos and CI with Azure Pipelines, continuous delivery with multi-stage pipelines, agile planning with Azure Boards, infrastructure as code with ARM and Bicep, containers with ACR and AKS, monitoring, and DevSecOps.

Which Azure DevOps tools will I use?

You will work with the five Azure DevOps services: Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, Azure Boards, Azure Artifacts and Azure Test Plans, plus ARM templates and Bicep, Azure Container Registry, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Microsoft Defender for DevOps.

Does the course cover CI/CD pipelines in depth?

Yes. You learn to design YAML pipelines with build, test and multi-stage deployment jobs, use approval and automated gates, and apply deployment strategies such as runOnce, rolling, canary and blue-green to release safely to Azure.

Are infrastructure as code and containers included?

Yes. You provision Azure infrastructure using ARM templates and Bicep deployed from Azure Pipelines, and you build and deploy containerised applications to Azure Kubernetes Service using Docker, Azure Container Registry, kubectl and Helm.

What materials and hands-on labs are provided?

You receive structured courseware covering all six modules and hands-on exercises on the Azure portal and CLI. Practical labs include creating a repo with branch policies, writing a CI/CD pipeline, deploying a Bicep template, and setting up an Application Insights dashboard.
