Why Earning the PMI-CP Pays off for Construction ProfessionalsSkills Sudan's Employers Now Reward

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

PMI-CP training helps construction professionals prove specialist project management capability and prepare for the PMI-CP exam. It suits project managers, site managers, project engineers and owner's representatives who want to lead construction delivery with confidence. Whether you are stepping up from site engineering, formalising a project mandate, or targeting reconstruction and infrastructure work in Sudan, this training builds the capabilities senior construction roles expect.

If you want to lead construction projects with a credential recognised across Sudan and international markets, the PMI-CP is a clear step forward. You gain contract, stakeholder and governance skills, application guidance and a structured route that employers value across sectors and regions.

    • Positions you for construction project manager and project director roles on major rebuilds
    • Validates construction-specific project management, not just general delivery experience
    • Builds command of contracts, claims and variation orders, the largest exam domain at 50%
    • Strengthens stakeholder, owner and regulatory engagement across the project lifecycle
    • Provides a globally recognised PMI credential that travels to the Gulf and beyond
    • Includes support for the four mandatory PMI-CP modules and the exam application
    • Improves your standing in a market short of certified construction leaders
    • Connects on-site delivery experience to strategic, governed project outcomes
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

PMI-CP group training helps organisations build construction project management capability by equipping teams with a shared, PMI-aligned approach. The training can be delivered for contractors, consultancies, PMOs and owner organisations. For firms delivering reconstruction, housing or infrastructure work, this training creates a common language for contracts, stakeholders, scope and governance across every project.

If your teams deliver capable builds but struggle with contracts, claims and portfolio-level governance, PMI-CP group training closes that gap. You gain a standardised, defensible way to plan, control and report on complex construction projects.

    • Builds consistent construction project governance across your delivery teams
    • Improves contract administration, claims control and risk management on live projects
    • Standardises stakeholder and owner engagement across programmes and sites
    • Reduces cost and schedule overruns through disciplined scope and change control
    • Supports capability building for reconstruction, EPC and infrastructure work
    • Enables customised training aligned to your project portfolio
    • Provides flexible delivery for teams in Khartoum, Port Sudan and beyond

Rebuilding Sudan: The Challenges Driving PMI-CP Demand

    Post-War Rebuild at Scale

Sudan faces one of the largest reconstruction efforts in the region, from cities to utilities. Delivering it needs construction leaders who can plan, scope and govern projects, the exact gap the PMI-CP closes.

PMI-CP builds strategy and scope control skills

    Housing for Millions of Returnees

With over three million people returning, demand for housing and basic services is urgent. Projects at this scale need certified managers who can engage owners, communities and authorities effectively.

    PMI-CP builds stakeholder engagement skills

    Contract and Claims Complexity

Reconstruction contracts carry heavy risk, variations and disputes. Contracts Management is the largest PMI-CP domain at 50 percent, preparing leaders to administer contracts and resolve claims.

PMI-CP builds contract and claims skills

    Shortage of Certified Construction Leaders

Years of instability drove many engineers to emigrate, thinning the pool of experienced project leaders. A PMI-CP credential makes holders rare and highly sought after in Sudan's market.

PMI-CP makes certified leaders stand out

    Multi-National Reconstruction Consortia

Consortia bringing together Sudanese, Egyptian, Saudi and Qatari firms need shared governance and reporting standards. PMI-CP gives teams a common, PMI-aligned way to coordinate delivery.

PMI-CP builds governance and coordination skills

    Utilities and Energy Reconstruction

With around 40 percent of power capacity lost, water, energy and utility rebuilds are a national priority. These programmes demand governed, risk-aware construction project management.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry, validating your ability to apply project management across the construction lifecycle. It suits construction project managers, site managers, project engineers, owner's representatives and consultants working on building and infrastructure projects.

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry, validating your ability to apply project management across the construction lifecycle. It suits construction project managers, site managers, project engineers, owner's representatives and consultants working on building and infrastructure projects.

Yes. As Sudan enters a large post-war rebuild, employers need certified leaders who can govern contracts, stakeholders and delivery. The PMI-CP is globally recognised through PMI's network in over 200 countries, and holders are scarce in a market thinned by engineer emigration, making the credential a strong career move.

No. PMP certification is not a prerequisite for the PMI-CP. You can apply directly based on your construction project management experience and education. The two credentials are complementary, with the PMP validating broad project management and the PMI-CP validating construction-specific expertise.

The PMI-CP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each Talent Triangle area.

The PMI-CP is built exclusively for construction. Its largest domain is Contracts Management at 50 percent, reflecting how central contracts, claims and disputes are to construction delivery. It is uniquely gated by four mandatory self-paced course modules before you can apply for the exam.

    General

What is the PMI-CP certification and who is it for?

The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) is PMI's specialist credential for the construction industry, validating your ability to apply project management across the construction lifecycle. It suits construction project managers, site managers, project engineers, owner's representatives and consultants working on building and infrastructure projects.

Is the PMI-CP worth it for construction professionals in Sudan?

Is PMP required before taking the PMI-CP?

No. PMP certification is not a prerequisite for the PMI-CP. You can apply directly based on your construction project management experience and education. The two credentials are complementary, with the PMP validating broad project management and the PMI-CP validating construction-specific expertise.

How long is the PMI-CP certification valid?

The PMI-CP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs within each three-year cycle through PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each Talent Triangle area.

What makes the PMI-CP different from a general project management credential?

The PMI-CP is built exclusively for construction. Its largest domain is Contracts Management at 50 percent, reflecting how central contracts, claims and disputes are to construction delivery. It is uniquely gated by four mandatory self-paced course modules before you can apply for the exam.

    Pricing

How much does PMI-CP training cost in Sudan?

Training fees vary by format, whether self-paced, live virtual or corporate group training, and are available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD under regional pricing and is not part of the training fee. Request a quote to see current options for Sudan.

What is included in the PMI-CP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions and mock exams mapped to the ECO, downloadable materials, guidance on the four mandatory PMI-CP modules and the exam application, and learner support. Talk to a learning advisor for the full inclusions on your chosen plan.

How much is the PMI-CP exam fee?

For reference, PMI lists the exam at around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members, and pricing may vary by region. PMI individual membership is about USD 139 per year and can reduce the exam cost. Confirm current fees on pmi.org before applying.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing for teams?

Yes. We offer corporate PMI-CP training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for contractors, consultancies and owner organisations. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a tailored quote for your team in Sudan.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major payment methods and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you and to request a quote.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

The PMI-CP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre, and is based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the PMBOK Guide.

How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is 3 hours and 50 minutes. It is designed to test application and analysis in realistic construction scenarios, not just recall.

What are the PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

There are four domains per the PMI-CP ECO: Contracts Management (50 percent), Stakeholder Engagement (30 percent), Strategy and Scope Management (15 percent) and Project Governance (5 percent).

What is the passing score, and how many attempts do I get?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed percentage, with results reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement. You get up to three attempts within a one-year eligibility window from application approval.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

You may retake the exam up to three times within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts, and our practice questions and mock exams are designed to help you build readiness before you sit again.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-CP training?

You will learn to manage construction contracts and claims, engage stakeholders and owners, control scope, schedule and budget, and govern projects. The training maps to the four PMI-CP domains and prepares you to apply these skills on real construction and reconstruction projects.

What are the four mandatory PMI-CP course modules?

Before applying, you must complete four self-paced PMI-CP modules in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each is a 6 to 10 hour commitment and awards 14 PDUs, for 56 PDUs in total.

Does this training meet the PMI-CP education requirement?

This instructor-led programme provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 contact hours of project management education PMI requires. Check with our team whether supplementary self-study or pre-reading can be credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

What eligibility do I need to earn the PMI-CP?

You complete the four mandatory modules plus one of three experience sets: a secondary diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience, a bachelor's degree with 36 months, or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months, all within the past 10 years, and 35 contact hours of PM education.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions and mock exams mapped to the PMI-CP ECO, references to the PMI-CP Handbook and the PMBOK Guide, and templates and quizzes to reinforce each domain and build exam readiness.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the PMI-CP course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you need help choosing a batch.

What training formats are available in Sudan?

We offer live virtual instructor-led training, self-paced e-learning and customised corporate group training, so professionals in Khartoum, Port Sudan and elsewhere can choose the format that fits their schedule. See upcoming schedules to get started.

Can anyone enrol, or do I need experience first?

Anyone can enrol in the training to build knowledge and contact hours. To sit the PMI-CP exam, PMI requires the four mandatory modules plus construction project management experience and education under one of its three eligibility sets. We can guide you through what you need.

Can I reschedule or transfer my enrolment to another batch?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch, and selected plans allow you to attend the training twice. Contact support to arrange a change that suits you.

    How soon can I start?

Self-paced learning lets you start immediately after enrolment, while instructor-led and corporate batches run on a schedule. See upcoming schedules or talk to a learning advisor to pick the earliest option that works for you.
