    What is the format of the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

    It is an open-book, objective test with 8 questions, each worth 10 marks, for a total of 80 marks. Only the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model are permitted during the exam.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 8 questions, each worth 10 marks (80 marks total), and you have 2 and a half hours (150 minutes) to complete it. Efficient navigation of the permitted materials is essential.

    What is the passing score for the exam?

    The pass mark is 50 per cent, so you need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Questions require specialist analysis and professional judgement across realistic assessment scenarios.

    How is the exam delivered?

    You can take it online through PeopleCert OnVUE proctoring, available around the clock, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. Both options are available to candidates in Rwanda.

    Which syllabus is the exam based on?

    It is based on the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version), which draws on the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model and the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide, and is aligned to the ISO/IEC 15504 process assessment standard.

    Course Content

    What topics does the COBIT 5 Assessor training cover?

    The training covers five areas: an overview of COBIT 5 process assessment, the Process Assessment Model, capability levels and process attributes, assessment planning and execution, and evidence, rating and reporting.

    What is the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model?

    The PAM is the ISO/IEC 15504-aligned model used to assess COBIT 5 processes. It has two dimensions: the process dimension covering the 37 COBIT 5 processes, and the capability dimension with six levels from 0 Incomplete to 5 Optimising.

    What are the six capability levels?

    They are Level 0 Incomplete, Level 1 Performed, Level 2 Managed, Level 3 Established, Level 4 Predictable and Level 5 Optimising. Each is assessed through process attributes and a four-point rating scale.

    What learning resources are provided?

    You receive aligned courseware, industry-driven case studies on assessment planning, evidence gathering, rating and reporting, mock exams and practice questions to build readiness for the open-book format.

    How long is the training and what format is it?

    The programme runs for 16 hours, typically delivered over 2 full days or 4 half-days. It is available as online (live virtual) instructor-led training, classroom, or customised corporate group training.

    Do I need COBIT 5 Foundation before enrolling?
