What is the format of the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

The exam has 8 questions, each worth 10 marks, for a total of 80 marks. It is open book, and only the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model are permitted. It is delivered online proctored or at a PeopleCert test centre.

How long is the exam and what is the pass mark?

You have two and a half hours, or 150 minutes, to complete the exam. The pass mark is 50 percent, meaning you must score 40 marks or more out of the 80 available.

What are the prerequisites for the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required before sitting the Assessor exam. COBIT 5 Implementation is recommended, and the Assessor exam assumes both Foundation and Implementation knowledge. Confirm current prerequisites with PeopleCert.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

What will I learn in the COBIT 5 Assessor course?

You will learn to apply the COBIT 5 PAM, rate the six capability levels and nine process attributes, collect and manage evidence, plan and execute assessments, and produce PAM-compliant assessment reports. The course spans all five Assessor topic areas.

What are the six COBIT 5 capability levels?

They are Level 0 Incomplete, Level 1 Performed, Level 2 Managed, Level 3 Established, Level 4 Predictable and Level 5 Optimising. Each is assessed through process attributes and a four-point rating scale of Not, Partially, Largely and Fully Achieved.

What is the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model?

The PAM is the ISO/IEC 15504-aligned model used to assess COBIT 5 process capability. It has a process dimension of the 37 COBIT 5 processes and a capability dimension of six levels, so you can rate how well each process is performed.

How long is the training and how is it delivered?

The programme runs for 16 hours, typically as two full days or four half days. It is delivered live virtual (online), in the classroom, or as corporate group training, with syllabus-aligned courseware and practical case studies.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The course includes scenario-based practice questions and mock exams mapped to the 8-question, open-book format, helping you build speed and confidence navigating the permitted reference materials.

How do I enrol in the COBIT 5 Assessor course?

Do I need COBIT 5 Foundation before enrolling?

You can attend the training without it, but COBIT 5 Foundation is required to sit the Assessor exam, and Implementation is recommended. If you do not yet hold Foundation, we can guide you on the right sequence.
