    What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

    The COBIT 5-I exam is an open-book, objective-testing paper delivered by PeopleCert, either online proctored via OnVUE or at a test center. Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 4 questions, each worth 20 marks, for 80 marks in total, and you have 2 and a half hours (150 minutes) to complete it. All four questions are scored.

    What is the passing score for COBIT 5 Implementation?

    You need 50%, or 40 marks or more out of 80, to pass. The four questions are scenario-based and require applied judgment, not just navigating the open-book references.

    What topics does the COBIT 5-I exam cover?

    Four topic areas: the need for a governance framework and the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, program management, and continuous improvement, all tested at application level.

    The seven phases are: what are the drivers, where are we now, where do we want to be, what needs to be done, how do we get there, did we get there, and how do we keep the momentum going. It is designed as a continuous cycle.

    What is the COBIT 5 change enablement cycle?

    It is a five-component cycle that runs alongside implementation: awareness and communication, desire and willingness, knowledge, ability, and reinforcement. It treats governance improvement as a people and culture challenge, not only a technical one.

    Do I need prior experience to take the course?

    You need COBIT 5 Foundation, since its concepts are assumed. Beyond that, the training suits practitioners who lead or support governance improvement, and hands-on case studies help you apply the concepts at work.

    How long is the COBIT 5 Implementation training?

    The instructor-led program runs 16 hours, delivered as two full days or four half-days depending on the schedule, and prepares you for the open-book COBIT 5-I exam.
