    What is the format of the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

    The Assessor exam is an open-book, objective examination based on the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version) and the COBIT 5 PAM. Only the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model are permitted during the exam.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 8 questions, each worth 10 marks, for 80 marks in total. You have 2 and a half hours (150 minutes) to complete it. It is delivered online proctored via PeopleCert OnVUE or at an authorized test centre.

    What is the passing score for the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

    The pass mark is 50%. You need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available to pass. Because questions require analysis and professional judgement, efficient navigation of the permitted materials is essential.

    Which materials are allowed in the open-book exam?

    Only two references are permitted: the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model. No other materials are allowed, so the training includes practice navigating these documents under timed conditions.

    What is the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model (PAM)?

    The COBIT 5 PAM is the ISO/IEC 15504-aligned model used to assess process capability. It has two dimensions: the process dimension (the 37 COBIT 5 processes) and the capability dimension (six levels from 0 Incomplete to 5 Optimising).

    What are the six capability levels and nine process attributes?

    The six levels are Incomplete, Performed, Managed, Established, Predictable and Optimising. The nine attributes span PA 1.1 to PA 5.2 and are rated on a four-point scale (Not, Partially, Largely, Fully Achieved) to derive each capability level.

    Is the courseware aligned with the current syllabus?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version), the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide and the COBIT Process Assessment Model, so you study exactly what the exam tests.
