This PMI-RMP training teaches you to manage project risk end to end: strategy, identification, analysis, response, and monitoring and closure. By the end you can build a risk register, run quantitative analysis and lead risk on complex programmes, mapped directly to the five domains of the January 2022 Examination Content Outline.

    Set Risk Strategy and Planning

Establish the risk approach, framework and thresholds for a project or programme. You learn to run preliminary document analysis, assess the project environment with SWOT and PESTLE, confirm risk appetite and build the risk management plan, mapping to Domain I (20%) of the ECO.

    Identify Threats and Opportunities

Facilitate structured risk identification using brainstorming, the Delphi technique, interviews and assumption analysis. You document risks in a clear cause, risk, effect format and validate the risk register for completeness, covering Domain II (20%) of the exam outline.

    Analyse Risk Qualitatively and Quantitatively

Prioritise risks with a probability and impact matrix, then apply Monte Carlo simulation, decision tree analysis, sensitivity analysis and expected monetary value. You visualise results with tornado diagrams and S-curves, the heart of Domain III (23%).

    Plan and Implement Risk Responses

Develop response strategies for threats (avoid, transfer, mitigate, accept) and opportunities (exploit, share, enhance, accept). You assign owners, set triggers, build contingency and fallback plans and track effectiveness, covering Domain IV (22%).

    Monitor and Close Risks

Track identified, residual and secondary risks against triggers, run periodic risk reviews, report to stakeholders and formally close risks at project end. You capture lessons learned for future work, aligned to Domain V (15%) of the ECO.

Apply Risk Across Agile and Hybrid Delivery

Tailor risk practice to predictive, agile and hybrid environments as the January 2022 ECO requires, and prepare for the 115-question, closed-book exam with practice questions mapped to each domain.
