The bridge covers only what is new and changed in ITIL 5 relative to ITIL 4, while the full Foundation covers everything from scratch. If you already hold ITIL 4 Foundation, the bridge is the faster route to the same ITIL 5 Foundation credential.

Do I keep the ITIL 5 Foundation credential after the bridge?

Yes. Passing the bridge exam grants the ITIL 5 Foundation credential, equivalent to passing the full ITIL 5 Foundation exam. It also opens access to higher ITIL 5 qualifications.

How long is the ITIL 5 credential valid?

The ITIL 5 Foundation credential is valid for three years. To renew, you earn 60 CPD points within the three-year cycle or pass a higher ITIL 5 qualification, as specified by PeopleCert.

What is the format of the ITIL 5 Bridge exam?

The exam is closed book with 20 multiple-choice questions and a 30-minute duration. It is delivered online proctored through PeopleCert OnVUE or at an authorised test centre, and focuses only on what is new in ITIL 5.

What is the passing score for the bridge exam?

The passing score is 65%, which means 13 of the 20 questions answered correctly. The exam tests the key differences between ITIL 4 and ITIL 5 across five topic areas.

Do I need ITIL 4 Foundation to take the bridge exam?

Yes. ITIL 4 Foundation certification is the prerequisite for the bridge. Candidates who do not hold ITIL 4 Foundation should take the full ITIL 5 Foundation exam instead.

How and where do I sit the exam?

You can sit the exam online with PeopleCert OnVUE proctoring, available 24/7, or at a PeopleCert authorised test centre. Your trainer and our support team can guide you through booking.

What if I do not pass the first time?

You can re-sit the exam under PeopleCert's resit policy. Our training and practice materials are designed to prepare you thoroughly for the five topic areas; confirm current resit terms with PeopleCert.

Do I need to re-study ITIL 4 content?
