What Is the COBIT 5 Implementation Certification Training in Norway?UntitledLead Governance Improvement with Confidence

The COBIT 5 Implementation (COBIT 5-I) certification training in Norway prepares IT governance professionals to plan and lead a governance improvement programme using the globally recognised COBIT 5 framework. It builds the practical skill to apply the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, drive change enablement, manage the improvement programme, and embed continuous improvement, moving from the first governance driver to sustained maturity. Aligned to the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version) and delivered with preparation for the PeopleCert open-book examination, the programme suits governance managers, GRC leads, IT auditors, enterprise architects and consultants across Norway's banks, energy majors and public bodies. COBIT 5 Foundation is the prerequisite, and the 2022 syllabus assumes that framework knowledge throughout. As Norway's Digital Security Act and NIS2 obligations push boards to prove governance maturity, professionals who can run a structured COBIT 5 improvement programme are in growing demand in Oslo, Bergen and Stavanger. Build that capability and move from study to certified with Invensis Learning.

What Is Driving COBIT 5 Governance Demand in Norway

    Digital Security Act Compliance

Norway's Digital Security Act, in force since October 2025, requires essential-service providers to prove governance maturity, the exact discipline the COBIT 5 implementation lifecycle delivers.

COBIT 5 builds structured governance improvement

NIS2 Reaches Norway via the EEA

Around 5,000 Norwegian entities fall in scope by July 2026, with NSM-led audits from October, demanding structured, board-level IT governance improvement.

    COBIT 5 builds audit-ready governance

    Overlapping DORA Obligations

Banks and insurers must reconcile NIS2 with DORA, and a single governance framework helps them meet layered digital-resilience rules without duplicating effort.

COBIT 5 aligns governance and resilience

    Board Accountability for IT Risk

New rules put cyber and IT risk on the boardroom agenda, and leaders who can run a COBIT 5 improvement programme translate that pressure into measurable governance.

COBIT 5 turns pressure into action

    Governance Talent Scarcity

Norway's IT market is rich in engineers but thin in certified governance implementers, making COBIT 5 Implementation holders rare and sought after.

COBIT 5 makes implementers stand out

    Energy and Public Sector Digitalisation

Equinor-scale OT and IT convergence and state digitalisation programmes need repeatable governance improvement across large, critical and regulated estates.

COBIT 5 scales across complex estates

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

COBIT 5 Implementation (COBIT 5-I) is the intermediate-level qualification in the COBIT 5 scheme. It validates your ability to apply the COBIT 5 implementation approach, the seven-phase lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement, to plan and lead a governance improvement programme.

    General

What is the COBIT 5 Implementation certification?

COBIT 5 Implementation (COBIT 5-I) is the intermediate-level qualification in the COBIT 5 scheme. It validates your ability to apply the COBIT 5 implementation approach, the seven-phase lifecycle, change enablement, programme management and continuous improvement, to plan and lead a governance improvement programme.

Who should take COBIT 5 Implementation training?

It suits IT governance managers, GRC and compliance leads, IT auditors, enterprise architects, consultants, and CIOs leading governance transformation. It is also the natural next step for COBIT 5 Foundation holders who want to move from framework awareness to practical implementation.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation worth it in Norway?

Yes. As the Digital Security Act and NIS2 push boards to prove governance maturity, Norwegian banks, energy majors and public bodies increasingly value credentialed governance implementers. The credential maps to roles from GRC manager to enterprise architect and head of governance. Talk to a learning advisor about your goals.

What are the prerequisites for COBIT 5 Implementation?

COBIT 5 Foundation certification is required. The 2022 syllabus assumes Foundation knowledge, including the five principles, seven enablers, process reference model and goals cascade, so candidates without Foundation should complete it before sitting the Implementation exam.

How does Implementation differ from COBIT 5 Foundation?

Foundation is a closed-book exam that validates knowledge of the COBIT 5 framework at awareness level. Implementation is an open-book exam that validates your ability to apply the implementation lifecycle, change enablement and programme management to realistic governance improvement scenarios.

Is COBIT 5 Implementation recognised internationally?

Yes. COBIT is a globally recognised standard for IT governance, and the Implementation credential is valued by employers worldwide for governance leadership, consulting and GRC roles. Exams are delivered by PeopleCert, which operates in more than 200 countries.

    Pricing

How much does COBIT 5 Implementation training cost in Norway?

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes COBIT 5 Implementation aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions and mock exams, first-attempt exam guidance and learner support. Verify whether an exam voucher is bundled when you enrol.

    Exam

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Implementation exam?

It is an open-book, objective examination based on the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version) and delivered by PeopleCert. The paper has four scenario-based questions, each worth 20 marks, for 80 marks in total.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has four questions, each worth 20 marks, giving 80 marks in total. You have 2 and a half hours (150 minutes) to complete it. All four questions are scored.

What is the passing score for the exam?

The pass mark is 50 percent, so you need 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Because the questions are scenario-based, focus on applying the implementation approach rather than recalling definitions.

What materials are allowed in the open-book exam?

Only the COBIT 5 Implementation book and the COBIT 5 Enabling Processes Guide are permitted. No other materials are allowed, so efficient navigation of these two references is part of the exam technique we teach.

How is the exam delivered in Norway?

You can sit the exam through PeopleCert online proctoring, available around the clock, or at an authorised PeopleCert test centre. Both options are available to candidates in Norway.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

You can retake the exam. Our training includes mock exams, scenario practice and first-attempt guidance to reduce that risk. Confirm the current re-sit policy and fees with PeopleCert before you book.

    Course Content

What topics does the COBIT 5 Implementation training cover?

The training covers the four topic areas of the 2022 syllabus: the need for a governance framework and the seven-phase implementation lifecycle, change enablement, programme management, and continuous improvement, all at application level.

What will I learn in COBIT 5 Implementation?

You will learn to build the case for governance improvement, run the seven-phase lifecycle, lead the change enablement cycle, manage the improvement programme, and embed continuous improvement so governance maturity is sustained beyond the initial project.

Do I need COBIT 5 Foundation knowledge for the course?

Yes. Foundation concepts such as the five principles, seven enablers and goals cascade are assumed and not re-taught. You should hold COBIT 5 Foundation before attending the Implementation training.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the COBIT 5 Implementation Exam Syllabus (2022 version) and to the COBIT 5 Implementation Guide, so your preparation matches what the current exam assesses.

    How long is the training?

The programme runs for 16 hours, typically delivered as two full days or four half-days. It covers all four Implementation topic areas and prepares you for the open-book exam.

Are mock exams and practice questions included?

Yes. The programme includes COBIT 5 Implementation practice questions and mock exams that mirror the four-question, open-book format, helping you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.
