COBIT 5 Assessor has become a senior marker of IT governance assurance across the Netherlands, valued by banks, insurers, Big Four firms, public bodies and technology employers that must prove ICT process capability. Demand sits at the specialist end, from IT auditor to IT audit manager and governance lead, and here is what the Dutch market is telling us right now.

What Is Fuelling Demand for Governance Assessors in the Netherlands

    DORA Compliance Pressure

Dutch banks, insurers and pension funds now operate under DORA, which demands evidence-based ICT risk governance. Certified assessors measure process capability against a defined standard, exactly what regulators expect.

COBIT 5 Assessor builds capability-assessment skills

    EU AI Act Overlap

The EU AI Act layers new obligations onto the same ICT systems DORA governs. Organisations need assessors who can evaluate governance maturity as AI oversight becomes mandatory.

COBIT 5 Assessor builds governance-maturity skills

    Assessor Talent Scarcity

The Netherlands has many IT auditors but few professionals qualified to run formal ISO/IEC 15504-aligned assessments. The Assessor credential makes holders rare and sought-after.

COBIT 5 Assessor makes holders stand out

    Third-Party Risk Growth

Heavy reliance on cloud and outsourced ICT means Dutch firms must assess supplier governance. Capability assessments give boards an objective view of third-party process maturity.

COBIT 5 Assessor builds supplier-assessment skills

    Governance Assurance Gap

Boards approve digital-transformation budgets but lack independent proof that governance processes work. Assessors close this gap with structured, traceable ratings.

COBIT 5 Assessor builds evidence-based rating skills

    Data Privacy and GDPR Scrutiny

Ongoing GDPR enforcement pushes organisations to show controlled, well-managed information processes. COBIT 5 capability assessments provide repeatable, defensible evidence.
