What Is Kanban and Why It Matters for Mozambican TeamsUntitledA Practical Guide to Pull-Based Flow

Kanban is a visual, pull-based way of managing work that authorises production or a new task only when there is genuine downstream demand, which cuts overproduction and smooths flow. Kanban training in Mozambique with Invensis Learning gives operations, supply chain, IT and Agile professionals a practical grounding in both the manufacturing Kanban system, born in the Toyota Production System under Taiichi Ohno, and the knowledge work Kanban Method formalised by David J. Anderson for software and service teams. This is a hands-on, one-day (eight-hour) programme, not an exam course. There is no certifying body and no test to sit; instead you build skills you can apply straight away, from designing kanban cards, supermarkets and pull loops on the factory floor to running Kanban boards, setting work in progress limits and reading flow metrics in an office or IT setting. Whether you run a plant in Beira, coordinate logistics through the Port of Maputo, or manage a software delivery team, the training helps you make work visible, limit overload and move value through your system with confidence. Learn Kanban with Invensis Learning and start improving flow from day one.

Why Mozambique's Employers Need Flow and Pull Skills

    Overproduction and Excess Inventory

Manufacturers and processors in Mozambique often build ahead of real demand, tying up cash in inventory. Kanban authorises work only when it is pulled, cutting overproduction at source.

    Kanban builds pull production skills

    Fragile Logistics and Supply Flow

As a gateway for landlocked neighbours, Mozambique's ports and corridors face uneven flow and stockouts. Kanban pull loops and supermarkets steady replenishment between suppliers and sites.

Kanban builds replenishment and flow skills

    Overloaded IT and Delivery Teams

Telecoms, banks and software teams take on more work than they can finish, and context switching slows delivery. Kanban boards and work in progress limits restore focus and predictability.

Kanban builds WIP-limit and flow skills

    Weak Visibility of Work

Many teams cannot see where work is stuck or who is overloaded. Making the workflow visible on a Kanban board exposes bottlenecks early so managers can act on evidence, not guesswork.

    Kanban builds workflow visualisation skills

    Scarce Process-Improvement Talent

Mozambique has few professionals trained in Lean and flow methods. Practical Kanban skills are in short supply, so people who can design and run pull systems are quickly valued.

    Kanban makes practitioners stand out

Pressure to Do More with Less

Power costs and tight capital push firms to squeeze more from existing resources. Kanban balances demand against capacity, helping teams prioritise the work that matters most.

The Kanban Skills You Will Put to WorkFrom Pull Systems to Flow Metrics

This Kanban course teaches you to design and run pull-based systems in both manufacturing and knowledge work. By the end, you can build kanban loops, run Kanban boards, set work in progress limits and measure flow to improve delivery.

    Pull Production and JIT Foundations

Explain the push versus pull distinction, why overproduction is the worst waste, and how Kanban signals authorise work only in response to real downstream demand, the basis of Just in Time production.

    Manufacturing Kanban System Design

Design production and withdrawal kanban, one-bin and two-bin systems, and supermarkets, then calculate kanban quantities and card numbers to cap inventory by design on the factory floor.

    Kanban Boards and WIP Limits

Build a Kanban board with columns, swimlanes and classes of service, and set work in progress limits that expose bottlenecks and help teams stop starting and start finishing.

    Flow Metrics and the CFD

Measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, apply Little's Law, and read a Cumulative Flow Diagram to spot where work accumulates and where flow breaks down.

    Scrumban and Agile Delivery

Combine Kanban with Scrum as Scrumban, use Kanban within scaled Agile settings, and manage demand and capacity with replenishment and delivery planning cadences.

    Implementing and Sustaining Kanban

Apply the start with what you do now principle, roll out Kanban in a plant or team, and keep improving by steadily reducing kanban quantities and WIP limits over time.
