What Is Fuelling Demand for Modern Service Skills in Malaysia

    Fragmented Framework Estates

Many Malaysian organisations run ITIL, Agile and DevOps in silos with no unifying model. VeriSM closes that gap with the management mesh, the exact problem it was designed to solve.

VeriSM integrates ITIL, Agile and DevOps

    GBS Hubs Scaling Fast

Klang Valley shared service centres and global business services hubs support many clients at once, demanding a consistent yet adaptable service management approach across engagements.

VeriSM builds a flexible, context-driven approach

    Digital-First Public Services

The MyDIGITAL agenda pushes agencies and enterprises to modernise service delivery. Prescriptive frameworks alone struggle to keep pace, so agnostic, outcome-focused skills are in demand.

    VeriSM supports consumer-centric service design

    Cloud and AI Reshaping Operations

Cloud migration, automation and AIOps are changing how services are run in Cyberjaya and Johor data centres, demanding a service approach that adapts technology into the mesh.

VeriSM applies innovative technologies to services

    Senior Service Talent Scarcity

Demand for experienced service leaders outpaces supply in the Klang Valley. A recognised EXIN credential helps professionals signal modern, integrated service capability to employers.

VeriSM helps certified professionals stand out

    Rising Consumer Expectations

Users now expect fast, seamless digital services. Organisations must design around consumer outcomes rather than internal outputs, the service-culture mindset at the heart of VeriSM.

VeriSM centres services on value and outcomes

    General

What is the VeriSM Foundation certification and who is it for?

VeriSM Foundation is EXIN's entry-level credential in modern, digital service management. It validates your understanding of the VeriSM model and management mesh. It suits IT and business professionals across Malaysia who want a flexible, framework-agnostic approach to managing services.

    What is VeriSM?

VeriSM is a service management approach for the digital age. Instead of prescribing one methodology, it gives organisations a model to define their own approach by integrating the practices best suited to their context, including ITIL, Agile, DevOps, Lean and SIAM, through the management mesh.

Is the VeriSM Foundation certification recognised in Malaysia?

Yes. EXIN is an internationally recognised examination body operating in over 165 countries, and VeriSM Foundation is valued by employers in Malaysia across IT services, GBS hubs, banking and telecoms, especially organisations undergoing digital transformation or using multiple service frameworks.

Do I need any prior experience or prerequisites?

No. VeriSM Foundation has no formal prerequisites. It is open to everyone regardless of education, work experience or prior IT service management knowledge, which makes it accessible to both IT and business professionals.

How long is the VeriSM Foundation certification valid?

VeriSM Foundation certification is for lifetime. The credential does not expire, so there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement once you have passed the EXIN exam.

Is the VeriSM Foundation certification worth it for my career?

Yes. VeriSM Foundation proves you can manage services the modern way and integrate practices across frameworks, skills that Malaysian GBS hubs, banks and technology firms increasingly seek. It is also the entry point to VeriSM Essentials, Plus and Professional.

    Exam

What is the format of the VeriSM Foundation exam?

The EXIN VeriSM Foundation exam is closed book with single-answer multiple-choice questions, based on the current EXIN VeriSM Foundation Examination Specification. It can be taken online with proctoring or at an accredited testing location.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 40 multiple-choice questions and you have 60 minutes (1 hour) to complete it. It is a closed-book examination arranged through an EXIN accredited training provider or directly via EXIN.

What is the passing score for the exam?

The passing score is 65%, so you must answer at least 26 of the 40 questions correctly to pass. Focus on broad understanding across all seven topic areas rather than any single topic.

What topic areas does the exam cover?

The exam covers seven EXIN topic areas: The Service Organization, Service Culture, People and Organizational Structure, The VeriSM Model, Progressive Practices, Innovative Technologies, and Getting Started, with the VeriSM Model carrying the largest weight.

Where can I take the VeriSM Foundation exam?

You can take it online through EXIN's online proctored exam system, or at an EXIN accredited testing location. The exam is typically arranged through an accredited training provider as part of a training and exam bundle.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the VeriSM Foundation course?

You will learn the VeriSM model, the management mesh, service culture, progressive practices such as ITIL, Agile, DevOps and Lean, innovative technologies, and how organisations get started with VeriSM, all aligned to the seven EXIN topic areas.

What is the VeriSM management mesh?

The management mesh is the central concept of VeriSM. It integrates four elements, resources, environment, emerging practices and management practices, so an organisation can create a service management approach that fits its own context and VeriSM pattern.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and mock assessments aligned to the 40-question, 60-minute EXIN exam with its 65% pass mark, helping you identify weak areas and build exam readiness.

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current EXIN VeriSM Foundation Examination Specification and the VeriSM framework from the IFDC and the VeriSM publication (Van Haren Publishing).

How long is the training and will I get a certificate of completion?
