    What is the format of the CSM exam?

    The CSM exam has 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 60 minutes. It is open book and taken online through the Scrum Alliance member portal after you complete an approved course, with no proctor required.

    What is the passing score for the CSM exam?

    The passing score is 74%, which means answering at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly. Broad familiarity with the Scrum framework and the Scrum Guide is the best way to prepare.

    How many attempts do I get for the CSM exam?

    Candidates typically have three attempts to pass the CSM exam within 90 days of completing the course. If you do not pass at first, our trainer guidance and practice materials help you prepare for the next attempt.

    Do I have to attend a course to sit the CSM exam?

    Yes. Attendance at an approved CSM course delivered by a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Trainer is mandatory. The online exam is unlocked only after you complete the course, and you have 90 days to sit it.
