    Do I need EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation first?

    EXIN recommends Agile Scrum Foundation knowledge as the entry point, but it is not strictly mandatory to sit the ASM exam. The training covers the Scrum framework fundamentals you need to progress confidently.

    Does the ASM certification expire?

    No. The EXIN Agile Scrum Master certification is for lifetime. There is no expiry, renewal, re-examination or continuing-education requirement once you have earned it.

    What is the format of the ASM exam?

    The EXIN Agile Scrum Master exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination delivered through EXIN online proctoring or at an accredited test location. Questions are drawn from the five EXIN topic areas covering the Scrum Master role and agile delivery.

    How many questions are on the ASM exam?

    The exam has 40 multiple-choice questions and you have 90 minutes to complete it. It is a single-answer format based on the EXIN Agile Scrum Master examination specification.

    What is the passing score for the ASM exam?

    You need 65% to pass, which is 26 out of 40 questions correct. The training and practice questions are designed to build broad mastery across all five topic areas.

    How and where do I take the ASM exam?

    You can take the exam online with EXIN online proctoring from home or office, or at an EXIN accredited test location. Exams are arranged through accredited training providers such as Invensis Learning.

    What happens if I do not pass the first time?

    The training covers the five EXIN topic areas: Agile Way of Thinking (20%), Scrum Master Role (25%), Agile Estimating, Planning, Monitoring and Control (27.5%), Complex Projects (12.5%) and Adopting Agile (15%), plus practical facilitation and exam strategy.

    How long is the ASM training?

    The programme runs for 16 hours, typically delivered over two days of instructor-led training. It can also be scheduled as extended half-day sessions to suit working professionals and teams.

    Can a beginner take this course?

    Yes. While EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation knowledge is recommended, the training builds the Scrum framework fundamentals from the ground up. Hands-on exercises and trainer support help newcomers to the Scrum Master role progress with confidence.
