What Is Fuelling Demand for COBIT 5 Assessors in Mexico

    Tighter CNBV Technology Rules

Mexican banks must meet CNBV provisions on technology-risk, cybersecurity and governance of external providers, driving demand for professionals who can assess IT governance capability with evidence.

COBIT 5 Assessor builds capability-assessment skills

    Open-Banking Compliance Deadline

With open-banking enforcement landing in 2026, banks and fintechs are rebuilding API infrastructure and compliance teams, and need assessors who can rate governance maturity objectively.

COBIT 5 Assessor supports governance assurance

    Fintech Growth Outpacing Governance

Around 800 fintechs now operate in Mexico, many scaling faster than their governance matures, the exact gap a formal COBIT 5 capability assessment is designed to surface and close.

COBIT 5 Assessor closes the maturity gap

    Scarce Certified Assessors

What is the format of the COBIT 5 Assessor exam?

The COBIT 5 Assessor exam is an open-book, objective-testing paper based on the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version) and the COBIT 5 PAM. Only the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide and the COBIT Process Assessment Model are permitted during the exam.

How many questions are in the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 8 questions, each worth 10 marks, for a total of 80 marks. You have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete it. All 8 questions are scored, and they cover the five topic areas at application and analysis level.

What is the passing score for COBIT 5 Assessor?

The pass mark is 50%. You must achieve 40 marks or more out of the 80 available. Because the exam requires analysis and professional judgement in realistic scenarios, aim for broad mastery across all five topic areas.

How and where can I take the exam?

The exam is delivered through PeopleCert, either online with OnVUE remote proctoring, available 24/7, or at authorised test centres. You can sit it from home or office in Mexico or at a test centre convenient to you.

What if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You can re-sit the COBIT 5 Assessor exam, and our training includes scenario practice and open-book technique to help you pass first time. Verify the current re-sit policy and any re-examination fee with PeopleCert before rebooking.

    Course Content

What topics does the COBIT 5 Assessor training cover?

Do I need prior COBIT knowledge to take this course?

Yes. The course assumes COBIT 5 Foundation knowledge, such as the five principles, seven enablers and the process reference model, and ideally Implementation knowledge. Foundation and Implementation content is not retaught, so hold Foundation before you attend.
