    Course Content

What topics are covered in the COBIT 5 Assessor training?

The 16-hour programme covers five areas: the overview of COBIT 5 process assessment, the COBIT 5 PAM, capability levels and process attributes, assessment planning and execution, and evidence, rating and reporting, aligned to the 2024 Assessor syllabus.

What is the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model (PAM)?

The PAM is the ISO/IEC 15504-aligned model used to assess COBIT 5 process capability. It has two dimensions: the process dimension, covering the 37 COBIT 5 processes, and the capability dimension, covering six levels from 0 Incomplete to 5 Optimising.

What are the six COBIT 5 capability levels?

They are Level 0 Incomplete, Level 1 Performed, Level 2 Managed, Level 3 Established, Level 4 Predictable and Level 5 Optimising. Each level is assessed through process attributes and a four-point rating scale, from Not Achieved to Fully Achieved.

Can a beginner take this course, or do I need experience?

You need COBIT 5 Foundation certification first, as the Assessor exam builds on it. It is an advanced, specialist course, so practical IT audit or governance experience is recommended. Our trainers support you through the assessment concepts with worked examples.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the COBIT 5 Assessor Exam Syllabus (2024 version), the COBIT 5 Assessor Guide: Using COBIT 5 and the COBIT Process Assessment Model, so your preparation matches the current exam.
