Is the ASM certification worth it in Mongolia?

Yes. As banks, fintechs and government programmes across Mongolia adopt agile delivery, certified Scrum Masters are in demand, with roles ranging from Scrum Master and Product Owner to Agile Coach commanding salaries well above the national average.

Is the ASM credential globally recognised?

Yes. ASM is issued by EXIN, a globally recognised examination institute, and is valued by employers in Mongolia and worldwide, including banking, fintech, telecom and technology organisations adopting Scrum.

Do I need Agile Scrum Foundation before taking ASM?

EXIN recommends Agile Scrum Foundation knowledge as the starting point, but it is not strictly enforced as a prerequisite. ASM is the intermediate level in the EXIN Agile Scrum scheme, above Foundation and below Professional.

How long is the ASM certification valid?

The ASM certification is valid for life. There is no expiry, renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement once you pass the EXIN exam.

Exam

What is the format of the EXIN ASM exam?

The ASM exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination with single-answer questions. It is delivered through EXIN online proctoring or at accredited test locations, and covers the five ASM topic areas.

How many questions are on the ASM exam and what is the duration?

The EXIN ASM exam has 40 multiple-choice questions and a duration of 90 minutes. The questions are distributed across the five topic areas defined in the EXIN examination specification.

What is the passing score for the ASM exam?

You need 65% to pass, which is 26 of the 40 questions answered correctly. The training includes mock exams so you can build readiness across all five topic areas before sitting the exam.

What topics does the ASM exam cover?

The exam covers five areas: Agile Way of Thinking (20%), Scrum Master Role (25%), Agile Estimating, Planning, Monitoring and Control (27.5%), Complex Projects (12.5%) and Adopting Agile (15%).

What if I do not pass the ASM exam the first time?

You can re-sit the EXIN exam by purchasing another voucher. Our training includes practice questions and mock exams to prepare you thoroughly, and a learning advisor can guide you on re-examination steps.

Course Content

What will I learn in the ASM training?

You will learn to facilitate Scrum events, coach teams, remove impediments, estimate and plan agile work, handle complex and scaled projects, and drive agile adoption, mapped to the five EXIN ASM topic areas.

Can a beginner take this course?

Yes. While Agile Scrum Foundation knowledge helps, the training builds from core Scrum concepts, so professionals new to facilitation can follow it. Hands-on exercises and trainer support reinforce each topic.

How long is the ASM training?

The Agile Scrum Master programme runs for 16 hours, typically delivered over two days. It can also be spread across shorter half-day sessions to suit working professionals and teams.

Are practice tests and materials provided?

Yes. You receive EXIN-aligned courseware, facilitation and coaching exercises, topic-wise practice questions and full mock exams that mirror the 40-question format to help you find and close weak areas.

Is the courseware aligned with the current EXIN syllabus?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current EXIN Agile Scrum Master examination specification and reflects the Scrum Guide and Agile Manifesto principles the exam is based on.
