Do I need an Azure subscription, and does it cost extra?

Is there an exam for the Azure DevOps course?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Azure DevOps exercises throughout the programme rather than a formal test.

Do I get a certificate after the training?

Is this a certification course?

How is my learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply each concept through hands-on exercises, building repositories, pipelines, infrastructure as code and monitoring dashboards, so you leave able to do the work rather than just describe it.

How long is the Azure DevOps training?

The programme is typically delivered as an intensive one-day, eight-hour course covering all six modules with hands-on Azure exercises throughout. Corporate sessions can be split across shorter blocks to fit your team's schedule.

Course Content

What will I learn in the Azure DevOps course?

You will learn to manage source control in Azure Repos, build CI/CD pipelines in Azure Pipelines, plan work in Azure Boards, automate infrastructure with ARM and Bicep, deploy containers to AKS, and monitor applications with Azure Monitor and Application Insights.

Does the course cover CI/CD pipelines?

Yes. CI/CD is central to the course. You build YAML pipelines with triggers, stages, jobs and tasks, then extend them into multi-stage deployments with approval gates and strategies such as rolling, canary and blue-green releases.

Does it cover infrastructure as code and containers?

Yes. You learn infrastructure as code with ARM templates and Bicep, deploying resources straight from pipelines, and containerisation with Docker, Azure Container Registry and Azure Kubernetes Service using Helm.

Is the training hands-on?

Very much so. You follow along in the real Azure DevOps portal and Azure CLI while the trainer demonstrates each service, so you practise creating repos, pipelines, IaC templates, alerts and Key Vault-linked variable groups yourself.

Does the course cover DevSecOps and monitoring?

Yes. You integrate security into the pipeline with Microsoft Defender for DevOps, secret and dependency scanning, and Azure Key Vault, and set up observability with Azure Monitor, Application Insights and DORA metrics.
