    What is the format of the CSM exam?

    The CSM exam is an open-book, multiple-choice test taken online through the Scrum Alliance member portal after you complete the approved course. It has single-answer questions and requires no proctor.

    How long is the CSM exam and how many questions are there?

    The CSM exam has 50 questions and a 60-minute (one hour) time limit. It is taken online via the Scrum Alliance portal within 90 days of completing your course.

    What is the passing score for the CSM exam?

    You need 74% to pass, which means answering at least 37 of the 50 questions correctly. Because the exam is open book, disciplined preparation across all six topic areas is the best approach.

    How many attempts do I get for the CSM exam?

    Candidates typically have up to three attempts to pass within 90 days of completing the course. Our exam-readiness support and practice questions are designed to help you pass on the first attempt.

    Which standard is the CSM exam based on?

    Which Scrum Guide edition is the course based on?

    The course is aligned to the current Scrum Guide, the November 2020 edition, which introduced the Product Goal and framed the Sprint Goal and Definition of Done as commitments. You learn to apply the 2020 Scrum Guide in practice.

    Are there practice questions and materials included?

    Yes. You receive Scrum Alliance aligned courseware, case studies and practice questions mapped to the CSM exam format, helping you identify weak areas and build readiness for the online assessment.
