Market Forces Driving SIAM Demand in South Korea

Multi-Vendor Sprawl in the Chaebol IT Model

Korean conglomerates run their IT through many specialist suppliers and captive integrators. Without a governance layer, accountability blurs, which is the exact gap SIAM is designed to close.

SIAM builds the integration layer this needs

Public Cloud Migration at National Scale

The Digital Platform Government plan will move 10,000 public systems to the cloud by 2030, multiplying suppliers and making service integration essential for agencies and their partners.

    SIAM builds cross-provider coordination skills

    Tighter Financial Outsourcing Rules

The FSC's outsourcing regulation requires banks and insurers to assess, monitor and govern every IT supplier. SIAM gives teams the structures to meet these accountability demands.

    SIAM builds supplier governance discipline

    AI Governance Mandates from 2026

Korea's AI Framework Act, effective 2026, adds governance obligations across enterprise IT. Coordinating compliant delivery across suppliers needs the integration discipline SIAM teaches.

    SIAM builds end-to-end assurance capability

    Scarce Service Integration Talent

Korea has deep project and ITSM talent but few professionals fluent in multi-supplier integration. SIAM Foundation helps certified holders stand out to hiring managers.

SIAM Foundation makes certified holders stand out

    Managed Security and Zero-Trust Demand

Managed security services are growing at nearly 17% a year as firms adopt zero-trust. These layered supplier models need the end-to-end governance that SIAM provides.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

EXIN SIAM Foundation is the entry-level credential that validates your knowledge of Service Integration and Management, the discipline of governing multiple IT service providers as one end-to-end service. Awarded by EXIN, it covers SIAM concepts, structures, roles, processes and governance in multi-supplier environments.

    General

What is the EXIN SIAM Foundation certification?

EXIN SIAM Foundation is the entry-level credential that validates your knowledge of Service Integration and Management, the discipline of governing multiple IT service providers as one end-to-end service. Awarded by EXIN, it covers SIAM concepts, structures, roles, processes and governance in multi-supplier environments.

What is SIAM (Service Integration and Management)?

SIAM is a management methodology for environments where several service providers deliver IT services to one customer organisation. It introduces a service integrator layer that coordinates and governs those providers to ensure end-to-end service delivery and clear accountability.

Is SIAM Foundation worth it for professionals in South Korea?

Yes. Korean banks, telecoms, public agencies and system integrators run large multi-supplier IT ecosystems, and demand for people who can govern them is rising with national cloud migration and tighter outsourcing rules. SIAM Foundation gives you a recognised, lifetime credential to stand out for these roles.

Are there any prerequisites for SIAM Foundation?

No. EXIN SIAM Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. Familiarity with basic ITSM concepts, such as from ITIL Foundation, is beneficial but not required to enrol or sit the exam.

How long is the SIAM Foundation certification valid?

The certification is valid for lifetime. It does not expire, and there is no renewal, re-examination or continuing education requirement once you pass.

Who should take SIAM Foundation training?

It suits ITSM professionals, service owners, sourcing and procurement specialists, and staff at service integrators or managed service providers who work in or with multi-supplier environments. It is also a strong next step for ITIL Foundation holders.

    Pricing

What is included in the SIAM Foundation course fee?

The training fee typically includes EXIN-aligned courseware, instructor-led sessions, practice questions and mock exams mapped to the exam format, and dedicated learner support. Exam voucher inclusion varies by package. Request a quote to confirm what your chosen option covers.

How much does SIAM Foundation training cost in South Korea?

Pricing depends on the delivery format, whether the EXIN exam voucher is bundled, and whether you enrol as an individual or a group. Exact fees are available on request. Talk to a learning advisor for a quote in your preferred format.

Is the EXIN exam fee included in the training price?

It depends on the package. Many accredited training providers bundle the EXIN exam voucher with training, while others price it separately. EXIN exam pricing varies by region and channel, so confirm the current fee when you enrol.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for service management, sourcing and integration teams. Contact us for a tailored group quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

    Exam

What if I do not pass the SIAM Foundation exam first time?

Our preparation is built around a first-time pass, with practice questions, mock exams and trainer guidance mapped to the EXIN format. If you need to resit, EXIN re-examination is available; confirm the current resit policy and fee at the time of booking.

What is the format of the SIAM Foundation exam?

The EXIN SIAM Foundation exam is closed book with single-answer multiple-choice questions. It can be taken online with EXIN proctoring or at an accredited testing location, and is often arranged through an accredited training provider.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 40 multiple-choice questions and a duration of 60 minutes (1 hour).

What is the passing score for SIAM Foundation?

You need 65% to pass, which means answering at least 26 of the 40 questions correctly.

Which standard is the SIAM Foundation exam based on?

The exam follows the EXIN SIAM Foundation Examination Specification and is aligned to the SIAM Body of Knowledge (SIAM BoK) published by Scopism, the primary reference material for the credential.

What topics does the SIAM Foundation exam cover?

It covers seven topic areas: Introduction to SIAM, the SIAM Implementation Roadmap, SIAM Roles and Responsibilities, SIAM Practices, Processes to Support SIAM, SIAM Challenges and Risks, and SIAM and Other Practices.

    Course Content

Can a beginner take SIAM Foundation training?

Yes. There are no prerequisites, so beginners can enrol. The training starts from core SIAM concepts and builds up gradually, and any basic ITSM background you have will make the material easier to follow.

What topics are covered in SIAM Foundation training?

The training covers all seven EXIN topic areas: SIAM concepts and the ecosystem, the implementation roadmap, roles and responsibilities, SIAM practices, ITSM process integration across suppliers, challenges and risks, and how SIAM aligns with ITIL, COBIT, ISO/IEC 20000, Agile, DevOps and Lean.

Do I need ITIL before taking SIAM Foundation?

No. ITIL is not a prerequisite. An ITIL Foundation or general ITSM background is helpful because SIAM builds on service management concepts, but it is not required to enrol or pass.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive EXIN-aligned courseware covering the examination specification, references to the Scopism SIAM Body of Knowledge, practice questions, mock exams and topic-wise revision aids to build exam readiness.

Does the training include practical, real-world examples?

Yes. Trainers use multi-supplier scenarios drawn from real service ecosystems, covering incident, problem and change coordination across providers, so you can apply the concepts at work, not just recall them for the exam.
