    What is the format of the Black Belt exam?

    The exam is a closed-book test of 150 multiple-choice questions based on the IASSC Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Body of Knowledge. A reference document with all required formulas and tables is provided, and questions span the five DMAIC phases.

    How long is the exam and what is the passing score?

    You have 4 hours (240 minutes) to complete the exam, with an extra 60 minutes allowed for non-native speakers. The passing score is a minimum of 580 points out of 750. Some exam forms include up to 15 additional unscored questions.

    How is the exam delivered?

    You can sit the exam online through a web-based proctoring system available 24/7, or at a PearsonVUE test centre. This makes it straightforward to schedule the exam from Tokyo at a time that suits you.

    What is the exam application process?

    After completing your training and preparation, you can take the optional non-proctored evaluation exam to check readiness, then purchase the official exam voucher and choose online or test-centre delivery.
